@aglet I did do this in the past, minus the glue and it worked itself free eventually. Might try with a strong adhesive. Loving the mono-stay shot, looks like a nice bike.
@withered_preacher hopefully if I make a neat enough job it shouldn't sacrifice protection too much. I'm not exactly Robert Förstemann either, it's only for the touring bike mind.
@turkish I do have rubber washers fitted at the moment but pretty sure the noise is coming from the contact on the chainstays as they flex. Having said that might get leather washers to totally eliminate this. Cheers
