I’d rather the test had gone to a doctor!

Thanks.

It really is just the people who would have access to the nuclear bunkers who are getting tests isn’t it! NHS carries out the test too!

Some "good" news (despite the headline from the Guardian new ticker):
Q: In the light of the new measures announced this week, will the NHS be able to cope?
Ferguson says that, under the policies that were in force earlier, the NHS would still have been overwhelmed - even with the extra critical beds available.
Now, in the light of the new measures, he says he thinks in some areas intensive care units will get very close to capacity.
But over, across the nation as a whole, he says he is reasonably confident that the NHS will have the resources to copy.
Clark says people will find that “tremendously reassuring”

...and revert to ignoring guidance and going about life as they'd like it rather than completing netflix?

If she dies during this, I'll be so fucking pissed off. A day off is the only good any of us will have had from her entire lifetime, and we won't get it.
Also, Chuck is 'working from home'.

looks like prince charlie finally got to go to his... CORONATION
YEAAAAAAAAAAH etc

It's not unreasonable to test heads of state and their hangers on for this. I know Charlie doesn't have a job but if any of the royals croak it, that'll (unfortunately, unreasonably) end up having a bigger impact on the reponse than any single doctor, so it's probably a test well spent.
I imagine the entire cabinet has been tested (likely more than once).

That’s the worrying bit, he tends to come into contact with a high number of charity workers. Hope they are all ok.

What's ZOE's involvement in this new app? Nutritional science company?

That is a BIG call to make.

They basically have the research/data recording infrastructure in place from previous studies they have run (which are based in nutritional science, but are essentially unrelated to COVID-19). It's a bit like that gin distillery in Bristol that's producing hand sanitiser - using already available facilities to help with the effort as it is much quicker and more efficient than starting from scratch.

Good luck for the birth, is it the first? From what I have read the baby should be ok even if it gets corona and the mum can still breastfeed even if they have it, just wear a face mask so the baby doesn’t get virus overload and keep washing hands. If it’s the first I would be aware about the difficulties there may be with breastfeeding as this will be really important to combat any viruses. It would be good to get info on lactation consultants etc who you could phone up as midwifes don’t seem to have enough time to really help if you do have trouble. This is coming from my own experience which wasn’t great I’m sure you will be fine. I’m not due till August but I’m still worried about it.
