• @russmeyer that sounds really good! You got any info on how much slimmer they are?

  • weren't as simple/user-friendly as fully cabled

In what way? Theyre much easier to set up than Spyres and don't require fiddling when the pads are worn. Def recommend hyrds over cable discs

  • Awesome collection of bikes, very pretty pictures as well!

    Cheers!

  • The lines on that Serotta are so nice. They make the Klein look like some kinda fatty MTB ting.

Which it shouldn't because both nice.

  • I've got the standard juin tech r1 and they've been faultless for 3 winters now. They work almost as well as my 105 hydros and way way better than my old avid cable discs. I've only ridden the hyrd not owned them but i prefer the feel of the juin techs. They are slimmer and easier to adjust than the tektros and take shimano parts so easy to get pads and seals but not so sure about small parts but apart from hope, shimano and formula a lot of small parts are a pain to get hold of. Anyway juin tech make very good reliable brakes despite not being that well known so i assume the new four piston versions will be even better.

  • Cantis are better than mini V.

And V-brakes are better than cantis.

OT: Nice stable! Serotta is lovely indeed.

  • And V-brakes are better than cantis.

..when you can fit the bastards.

  • Well, if you can fit cantis you can fit V-brakes?

Or are you talking about the wheel size conversion.

  • Nicest looking pomp I've seen too đź‘Ś

  • Sometimes they're hard to fit with fenders and it messes with the pleasing aesthetic I feel, but they do stop you dead.

  • I agree cantis are better looking. I'm running 53mm tyres and still plenty of room for fenders height wise, so no issue there for me. Love the braking power indeed.

  • any info on how much slimmer they are?

    A bit.

Was going to say just Google it but I can't find the dimensions online. Look at a few pictures, the Hy/Rds are a lot chunkier.

  • you're welcome.. I have been researching quite a bit with being a poor student and all.

  • 42 mm Spesh Sawtooth kind of fits on the pomp.

Will switch back to the 33mm, tis but a test.

  • I'm running 53mm tyres and still plenty of room for fenders height wise, so no issue there for me

I need a pic on that, sounds mahoosive.

The CNC gravel bike I have in bits can fit 2.1" on 700c wheels.

I'm starting to get giddy in anticipation for that build.

  • Hy/Rds are a lot chunkier

They are, by quite a lot. I'm stoked on the Juins now. Not so stoked on setting them up because I hate the mess hydro creates..

  • If you ever want to sell the Klein I'll happily get on the train Götlaborg!
    Awesome collection btw.

  • Cheers! Not a collection per say, but aiming towards something that could pass as one.

I'll note that down in the black book. ;)

  • get the shorty ultimates, there are a couple on the forum

  • There's no mess. Attach cable, center caliper, done.

  • No bleeding of stuff? That's super.

  • Wrong colours.

And for that price I can bump it up a few quid and buy the DBAD specials.

  • Did a shakedown ride on the Klein and I am severely flattened and stretched out with that ITM Ergal 7075 anatomic bar and the controls are too far down on the bars, so the old timey setup doesn’t really work for me and my autonomy ha! #fuckyoudoyoga and I hear u. Time to do some stretches.

75mm reach in 26mm clamp flavour in the meantime’s ?

Also, I need a year 2020 type saddle that would fit the build. All the bells and whistles in 145mm wide and up.

    Suggestions?
