@dammit here you go

You will have to re-lean how to use a mid 90s web site bit can highly recommend.

I'm in NZ for the wedding so different rules; 100 person gatherings is the limit but all the bars & restaurants seem to be way over that! The travel restrictions are a pain (our flights keep being cancelled) but other than that it's pretty much business as usual here.
Don't envy you on that dilemma! Just so hard to say which way it will go - good luck with it all though!
New Zealand to go into full lockdown from midnight on Wednesday: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/412403/all-of-new-zealand-must-prepare-to-go-in-self-isolation-now-prime-minister

tbh can't wait for it to happen here, the weekend was an absolute disappointment we did celebrate mothers day via zoom (even though none of us is sick) while across the street people were coming in full cars to see their relatives... with balloon, cards, cakes... until the Gov gets serious, numbers will keep rising... (rant over, wrong thread I know, but the WTF this weekend was major and I had to let it out...)

Not important at all and shows how bored I am but does anyone know what watch BoJo wears? Quick look online, most likely a Piaget Tradition (https://www.quora.com/What-wristwatch-does-Boris-Johnson-wear)? Other sites suggesting possibly a PP Calatrava

Heh, I had the same idle thought during that address.
It ain’t a Patek. Piaget suggestion looks on the money, though the hands are thicker than the stick hands on the examples shown.

I saw that but I'm already out!
Currently in Dubai airport browsing the gaudy watches (but not touching anything)!

Right, I mentioned this about a year ago and never followed up, but am now in full de-clutter mode, so going to see if any interest in my About Vintage 1971.
Per previous post, I got it during their kickstarter and just never wore it - it's this one here.. https://eu.aboutvintage.com/collections/all/products/1971-automatic-rose-gold-white-limited-edition
Pics of it here... Will £400 tempt anyone for a quick sale?

If it wasnt for the fact that I'm staring down a year of minimal income, I'd be all over that.

This is one of the nicer configurations of the 20 Atmos they've come out with. Dial is similar to the 50 Atmos but with a lollipop seconds hand.

That look very classic and the orange arm is spot on.
Lots of money tho, but then I don’t know or heard of that brand before.

Hour hand is awful. Did they forget to design the rest of it?
-
• #43164
Yep. Like that. Intrigued as to how you can have a: 'Swiss ETA 2824-2/SW 200, élaboré Automatic Movement'
It's either an ETA, or it's not.

Are you sure you're not only seeing the lume?

• #43166
Great idea .... we all may have time to do this now
-
• #43167
I have a couple of these .
Homage/ modern interpretation but good value and well made with a history of decent case making .... so I’ve read -
• #43168
That's the problem isn't it?
The rest of the hand is hidden either just in that picture or in real life which makes it look shit.
-
• #43169
Possibly, but it's probably not something you can judge from a photo
-
• #43170
It's based on this Blancpain:

Homage/ modern interpretation...
Like the recent Smith watches?
-
• #43172
It cost more than a Steinhart or is Squale supposedly a "higher" end brand?
-
• #43173
I'm liking Steinhart's military interpretation over the Squale's;

The original company was one of the few to make divers at the time.
Jacques Mayol (the big blue) used to wear them. -

The original company was one of the few to make divers at the time.
Oh I see, so Squale was an original diver watch company before it got resurrected (like the Smith Everest)?
Yes. I did a paid for online course that teaches you to disassemble, clean, oil and reassemble common movements. It was very good. Will dig out some details for you.
