Obviously Tim Martin is a piece of work. His actual comments aren't as abhorrent as the "go away and get a job at tesco" headlines people are giving them:
"We have had lots of calls from supermarkets, Tesco alone want 20,000 people to join them. That's half the amount of people who work in our pubs.
If I'm honest, I could say you can get the furlough payments and stay at home.
If you're offered a job at a supermarket, many of you will want to do that. If you think it's a good idea, do it.
I can completely understand it. If you've worked for us before I promise we will give you first preference if you want to come back.
I completely understand if you don't want to wait around for us to reopen but deeply appreciate your work."Yes, they appear, unlike say Costa, to have not chosen to front payments and be reimbursed by the government allowance at the end of April.

I was reminded of my low class status yesterday, for the first time in my life I considered making my own pasta, and realised I'm not middle class enough to own a vintage italian pasta shaper or whatever the fuck they use to make those comforting multi-shaped packs of joy.
At this rate I will be making my own bread soon too, followed by the inevitable artisanal beard.
God help us, the Corona virus is turning us all into hipsters.

My wife is 37 weeks pregnant, we're at whipps Cross for a scan. I'm currently sat outside as only patients are allowed in the hospital.

Sorry to hear that :(
Tokenism is not ok, sometimes it is accidental and companies do learn, but this is just blatant not even trying.
You are ok atm, job is ok and you are getting paid? So many posts here, maybe you already mentioned it but then I missed it :)

All you need to make pasta is a rolling pin and a knife.
Oh and eggs and flour.

Haha.
Just make up your own shape? Call it British Garden Worm Pasta :p
I made my own bread but I had no choice due to the quarantine in the house. It never, ever, looks like it should. If you get to that stage, ensure you put enough salt in it needs a surprising amount of salt.
And put it on a heater with something to elevate it a bit, cos unlike the hipsters you probably won't have a proofing room either (I don't)

You don’t need to be, you can find a cheap one for £15-20.
Generally you don’t need to tho, don’t even need eggs.

Eggs are optional in pasta, luckily.

Genuinely had never crossed my mind, despite it being obvious.
Everybody should make their own pasta at least once. It's an incredible way to get top notch food for not very much money and it's extremely therapeutic.

It's a good point. We stopped making it when we moved to somewhere with a tiny kitchen.

So much for working round the clock.
I left Wetherspoon for the very reason they were horrible, kept allocating me to stay in the stockroom (was hired said a bartender) but look good to “hire a disabled”.
