Some people are just sick. Not medically sick but just SICK!

God. Sorry about that! I don’t know why but these are the things I find most upsetting about all this. Someone’s been on the planet for years, leaving their history, affecting people’s lives and a funeral is such a basic and important moment in terms of acknowledging that. There’s something about not being physically able to make that pilgrimage I find really sad. I hope you can find the capacity to connect in the way you need to to it.

Reminding other people to check their privilege is "doing", as far as I am concerned. "Not doing" in that regard is a very "I'm alright, Jack" mentality, and again, "privilege". So, check it!

Thanks. I know what you mean but I am actually really relieved. It is an auntie who was in her 80s and the funeral would have been full of her friends of a similar age. And I have another auntie in her 80s who was making her way down from the hebrides for it. I would have hated to have gone along and made someone ill. Strange and sad new priorities that seep into everything now...

Well it took a global viral pandemic but I did an hour on the turbo trainer for about the first time since 2014...
Also snagged a pack of toilet roll at the local shop so haven't been reduced to wilted lettuce leaves just yet.

Amazon charging £80, yes £80, for express delivery of toilet rolls

Did you survive the wine then?

Yeah, probably. Supermarkets are doing it in Murica without anyone getting shot though
Honestly, ham-fisted attempts at PPE are worse than no PPE.
"I've (badly, ineffectively) sanitised my hands at the store so I don't need to do it when I get home"
They would do better by clearly reminding their customers to wash their hands after they have put the shopping away.

Anyone paying that needs their head looked at. I would quite literally drag my ass along the front lawn before paying the equivalent of a pound a shit.

In other news, thank fuck Brexit hasn't happened yet eh? We'd be eating slugs by now.

Shit happens. I guess it makes ethical sense to prioritise essential items (food, medicine) instead. You tie up an entire van very quickly with only a few bulk bogroll orders.

I'll put you down for the DeWalt mitre/chop-saw.

Which would be fine, if they were making the same express delivery charge on all non-essential items, but they're not. I assume this is down to the seller, not Amazon, so my initial post could be a little misleading.

Wetherspoons being a horrible company...again. Not paying people at all while they are laid off.

What's difference between fresh and not fresh toilet roll?
-
• #7300
Fresh is their grocery delivery service fulfilment. Stuff unbadged could be fulfilled through their other channels or direct from supplier via marketplace.
Or the non fresh stuff is 'used' or 'new (other)'
Oi I have first dibs.
