God. Sorry about that! I don’t know why but these are the things I find most upsetting about all this. Someone’s been on the planet for years, leaving their history, affecting people’s lives and a funeral is such a basic and important moment in terms of acknowledging that. There’s something about not being physically able to make that pilgrimage I find really sad. I hope you can find the capacity to connect in the way you need to to it.
That’s true currently. I think they’re still largely burying.
South Korea had infection clusters around funerals and moved to cremations with no ceremony. We should probably follow that I guess for minimum transmission but it’s just so damaging. I wonder if very small funerals, recorded somehow (to be viewed by those who’d normally attend) would help?
