  • Don't know if you are aware but Microsoft is offering 6-months free of Teams (in fact they've offered it for ages). Works fine and you can invite people from Skype to chats etc.

  • Sadiq Khan...projecting gravitas

    Really?

  • My guess is that zero / low alcohol brewing is a far more involved process, and smaller manufacturers are not big enough to make it financially viable.

  • The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong - Churchill

  • It's just as important to call out if people are incorrectly negging others because they think they are flouting the guidelines because they don't have a similar set up/experience/situation as them.

    That one.

  • Regarding the fucking appalling level of driving on the streets of London at the moment, this was a message from a mate yesterday...

"I was cycling up archway on my own this morning at about 10kph and a bloke drove straight into me from a side road and dragged me about 6 ft under the front of his car. No idea how I'm not dead to be honest. I thought he was trying to kill me but was just distracted by everything that is going on. So hopefully my lesson will help some of you making decisions about going out for the time. I'll certainly be on the turbo for the time being once I recover. Be safe out there"

  • One thing that's driving me mad: how is it that the supermarkets aren't offering hand sanitiser for customers? What's the point of self-isolating for 23 hours day only to end up at a filthy supermarket?

  • It's just as important to call out if people are incorrectly negging others because they think they are flouting the guidelines because they don't have a similar set up/experience/situation as them.

    Just as important as what?

  • Exercise is once a day and there really aren’t any other restrictions as long as you’re with people from your own residence or you are alone.

Not quite true, we are also being asked to minimise time spent outside for all of the exceptions.

    Including exercise.

  • Maybe not gravitas but my female colleagues assure me he has a silver fox thing going for him

  • surgical gloves. bought a 120 of em for a fiver at the corner shop.

Definitely. Already fed up of wiseacre cyclists telling everyone they shouldn't ride outside because strain on the NHS etc.

The government guidance is very clear and guess what - it's put together by people who know better than you! If you want to take a stronger stance and never leave the house then bully for you but stop bending my ear about it.

  • Huel with water, not as bad as I had feared.

    Doesn't mix as well though.

  • Anyone else see the White House briefing yesterday? It was a wild ride.
Gave the impression that they aim to open things back up somehow in the coming weeks. Interesting that the UK / US positions are different in terms of how it's being handled. We seem more in line with other European approaches now (?)

  • Talking of booze Mrs W and I realised our consumption is through the roof. Comfort eating and drinking and nightly WhatsApp beers with friends will have us very very unfit before this concludes if we don’t change tack quite quickly. Might not venture out to replace that Ben & Jerrys I demolished last night!

Hahaha - completely agree, daily drinking is now a thing. Working this close to the fridge is a terrible idea too.

  • Can you assume that Boris wouldn't just follow Trump if the USA goes business as usual in a few weeks even if the rest of Europe is still locked down?

  • My uncle died on the weekend, his funeral is on saturday in South Wales so we obviously aren’t attending. Plan is to have a celebration/ wake whenever we can.

  • "Winding it in" or not bickering. Actually probably more important.

  • Sorry to hear that.

  • Ha, fair enough

  • Definitely. Already fed up of wiseacre cyclists telling everyone they shouldn't ride outside because strain on the NHS etc.

On here? Haven't seen that. I can just see people saying they can ride outside in moderation but all day rides are pushing the boundaries too far.

Couple of friends of mine have just left NY and headed back to the UK in recognition that the US is going to shit, fast. They've been there for three years and had no intention of leaving, but I think the US is potentially going to suffer the most of all the developed world due to their insane leadership and lack of social protections.

  • I couldn’t go even if I was allowed now that my housemate has symptoms, that was my main worry about bangface tbh and it seems they were well founded.

  • This is London, my friend.

Don’t worry, I still remember that incident in Brick Lane about the owner damaging a locked bike.

  • Big Drop Brewery, haven't tried them but I hear they're very good...
