Get off your high horse. You seem to be intent on making this some kind of class war when I said nothing about launderettes so obviously I understand why people would use one.
To get this back on track, the rules are sufficiently vague that you could make anything out of them. The UK government needs to be clearer about what they mean but it's easier to produce a list without any refinement than actually be precise. Where I live, "pure play" dry cleaners are shut, launderettes are open, anyone who does both is open too (for now).

Mate, you're the one who took offense at my tongue in cheek suggestion that you missed the point of the exemption;
I dunno about you but whilst I'm keeping my clothes clean I also don't think it's the moment to break out my best suit that needs dry cleaning rather than the stuff I own that I can throw in my washing machine.
This smacks of a tone of judging others who might use the service, negatively. You could have taken what I said for what it was and either reconsidered your comment or admitted your oversight. Instead you took grave offense, which is stereotypical of someone being called out for not checking their privilege.
Your comment was just as flippant, boss. And totally ignored that most dry cleaners are not only dry cleaners and offer laundry services (I've not seen one round here that doesn't). Of course dry cleaning a suit is not a priority, but again I don't believe that is the point of the exemption. Your sideways dig (whether intended that way or not) at those who might use those services because you don't appreciate their importance, speaks of your ignorance and privilege.
