  • I think so because of reduced service...

  • Maybe so, but personal experience of unexpected injury requiring hospital visit, and also being in a position to demand surgery.

Maybe wouldn’t be the same experience in the coming weeks...

  • really bizarre :-/ since yesterday, in NL groups of more than 3 people will be fined, and I saw this being posted this morning

  • A 'group ride down a tight dark river path' was not at all what we were talking about.

    Have you considered reading training?

  • Everyone thinks they are infallible. Myself included. That’s why so many people speed in cars...
Is it not best to minimise risk as much as possible at this time?

  • I don't consider a solo bike ride in daylight to be a risk.

  • Of course it’s a risk, you can debate how much but to state there is no risk is false.

  • The item itself is sealed so it's just the packaging needs wiping down. I'll ask him to do that.

  • You should add sober and on a well maintained bike before people find examples of you falling off while drunk or breaking a bike that was not really road worthy. You’re bound to have examples on here, most of us do.

As for whether you should go for a solo ride in the daylight to get air, exercise and try to hold onto some sanity, of course you should.

How far? I’d say a couple of hours at a moderate pace would be no more risk than a ride to the corner and back.

  • Yeah the quote was low and out of context but thats on him not me.

    :)

  • It wasn’t meant as an attack just highlighting we all make mistakes. None of us intend to fall off!

Perhaps the above shows just how stretched our NHS will be.

This was covered waaayyy upthread. Allegedly it´s Them that do it.

  • Is it just me or is the announcement last night just forcing people to do what they should have been doing anyway? I.e keeping yourself to yourself and not just popping down to Topshop or whatever?
The good news is my work have now decided I don't need to be on site to stand about doing nothing and I can now do that remotely.

  • Tell them to leave it outside for a few days when they receive it.

  • People, PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

The drivers are horribly aggressive and one spat at me on my commute to work.

  • Gove just clarified on BBC breakfast that transfering under 18's between parents homes is acceptable and won't be discouraged

  • Gove just made it clear, Sports Direct aren't essential and they have now u-turned on opening. He said walking, running and cycling were the only forms of exercise people really needed so wasn't sure the need for a sports equipment shop.

He actually did a good job clarifying a lot of examples, hopefully they will post it online.

  • Maybe so, but personal experience of unexpected injury requiring hospital visit, and also being in a position to demand surgery.

Not saying I agree with his view, the choice of the quote is nitpicking at best, they can also find something from me if they wanted to make a point.

I strongly advised people not to ride unless necessary (like commute to work), 5 minutes walking is a better exercise than 5 minutes cycling.

  • Have you got any disposable gloves? I tried them the other day and they supposedly helped to stop my from touching my face a lot.

If not, any clean gloves would be ok as long as you throw them into the wash as soon as you get home.

  • Did they? Only surprised because surely field hospitals are a "normal" part of crisis planning/strategy (depending on nature of said crisis).
Sister (doctor) a week ago said that London children's hospitals (I think GOS) were pulling child patients in from other London hospitals to free up spaces there, in the same breath as mentioning provision for army hospitals in London.

  • they have not u-turned on opening

    They have now.

  • That was a very unfortunate typo

  • People, PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

The drivers are horribly aggressive and one spat at me on my commute to work.

    I was afraid of this

  • I wonder how this applies to dog walking businesses?

I mean, they provide a service for some vulnerable people and reduce the number of people out walking their dogs...
