That's from 21st March, today's bulliten supersedes that surely?
-
• #7129
The doc mentions 23 March using past tense though.
On 23 March the Government, stepped up measures to prevent the spread of coronavirusand save lives. All non-essential premises must now close.

The filename suggests it's the 23rd March

Somebody call LBC and explain to Tom Swarbrick why Bicycle Shops are on the list (Twice)

So essential they listed ‘em twice? Not great attention to detail for a nationwide shutdown list...

Anybody know about off-licences? Planning a final can run.

Interesting how Wowcher offers have progressed in the last couple of weeks: loo roll > hand sanitiser > face masks > infection control course > stress mgmt course > will writing.

How are dry cleaners essential?
-
• #7136
Hygiene: conditions or practices conducive to maintaining health and preventing disease, especially through cleanliness.
-
• #7137
Because clean clothes are quite important, not all clothes can be put through a spin cycle.
-
• #7138
I dunno about you but whilst I'm keeping my clothes clean I also don't think it's the moment to break out my best suit that needs dry cleaning rather than the stuff I own that I can throw in my washing machine.

Edited - too grim to joke

Evidence would suggest otherwise, maybe you’ve had cycle training since..?

Dry cleaners also often offer laundry services. Not everyone has a Miele washing machine and dryer combo in their utility room.

That was 4 years ago dude. A lots can happened between that times.
I may not agree with Mark’s view but that’s a very low blow.

I have a thing I want to send to a colleague who is self-isolating (I think due to age). I went into work via public transport yesterday and worried about being a vector. If I wash my hands, wipe the box down with sanitising spray, don't touch my face while putting it in a jiffy bag, really try not to touch my face all the way to the post office, is there much risk?
:/ -

Isn’t cycle republic closing down anyway regardless of Covid?
Correct, date to be determined (to be finalised by or before 15th April).
-
• #7145
Yep. My bad.
-
• #7146
I think risk from infection through surfaces is lower, especially if you disinfect before shipping, but maybe ask him to wipe it down with rubbing alcohol (if the item allows for it) as well.

What do people think about sports direct‘s refusal to close? Surely people could just order sport equipment online instead of putting both staff and customers at risk? Not that sports direct cares about its employees in normal times...
It really shouldn’t be up to businesses themselves to decide if they are essential or not.
-
• #7148
Other shops sell online that sounds like a bad decision.
Now... if they close and their staff are on contracts instead of "proper" employees a closure does mean they get the pricely sum of £90 a week.
Wonder if thats why?

I'm confused about essential travel.
Getting my son in the car once a week from my ex and just going there should be ok?
Once quarantine is over.
My partner is on the mend. 38.5 temp Sunday evening and needed his reliever inhaler. Fever dropped yesterday and he was hungry which is generally a good sign. So probably just a nasty cold...but no way to be sure.

speaking of travel, are those absolutely crowded tube pics I keep seeing for real and recent?
surprised-would have expected them to get in on the corporate giving opportunity of helping to sort out NHS workers etc. in the same way lots of other firms are giving free goods/services but maybe just too hard for such big companies to negotiate legal duty of care for staff and their safety
