Spraying a plume of airborne virions behind them?
I appreciate this is a London forum but these restrictions are country wide. There are many areas you can ride for hours and not see any more than half a dozen cars. You need never be close to anyone.

This is what I'm unclear about. Most jobs are not absolutely necessary right now (unless you consider having an income a necessity ) but is this referring to unnecessary travel or job?
-
• #7057
If it’s inline with most of Europe then travel to work is fine. You should wfh if possible.

I’m a tree surgeon. Work in teams of 2-10 in close proximity, share trucks and deal with the public.
Have just been told it’s business as usual tomorrow.
I’m mortified at this especially as we’d be eligible for the grants/wage relief etc. -

I’m kind of in the same boat, although we do fulfilment in house, but the stuff we sell isn’t essential in any way (bike parts for old school BMX enthusiasts).
My gut feeling is that the right thing for me to do is to close my shop, to reduce the pressure and the danger to the delivery people. Less parcels is less contact. -

Don't worry about the potential emergency healthcare burden of cyclists. We'll be left to die in the street.
My friend's two year old needed emergency care over the weekend (convulsing, turning blue) and it took 20 minutes to speak to a human on 999 and 4 hours for an ambulance, the wait would have been much longer but children are given priority. Basically, every fucktard wants a Covid-19 test and it's choking the system. This was in Tottenham btw.

Yep, my bro is a landscaper on new build sites, has to go in tomorrow to a site with over 200 people
-
• #7062
Isn’t that attitude exactly what’s going to fuck this country back to the dark ages tho?
-
• #7063
I’m getting similar feelings. I fear that we wouldn’t be eligible if we opt to stop running an online shop though.

'kinell. Hope the kid was ok in the end?
-
• #7065
For sure. He doesn’t want to go in, but his boss is basically say go or don’t get paid.

Advice seems to suggest only non-essential shops/public spaces/hotels are to be closed

Fall of turbo at home, need an ambulance
And as for rollers, anyone using them is clearly a sociopath with no regard for their fellow man.

‘non-essential retail stores‘, that’s me. A shop’s a shop..

How many old folk you reckon that one twat has put in the grave?

I'm sure every forum is avidly seeking to justify why their key activity can continue
-
• #7071
even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
Guess this bit covers the discussion on whether to ride for an hour or smash a century.

But then he said online shops could stay open...
