Deleted. (Possibly a bit Daily Mail)

Honestly, I reckon 18-hour shifts maintained beyond a couple of days are likely to kill more people - doctors included - than accepting the resource constraints inherent in running regular hours.

Surely it would totally fuck their immune system.

No one is making good decisions in the last few hours of an 18 hour shift, let alone after days of back to backs

My colleagues who were in work today were told same about 3pm. Lockdown imminent, national broadcast at 8.30pm my partner just said.

Trying to do something positive with all the shit that's going on... the King's person I spoke to on the phone sounded a bit tearful and she thanked me repeatedly... she shouldn't have had to thank people for trying to do the right thing.

Where's this 830 national broadcast thing coming from?

On PM (Radio Four), I'm sure they said that they're expecting a statement from the PM at half eight, but I can't find anything anywhere. Anything heard anything similar? I'd expect it to be an announcement of a lockdown, or a final warning.

It replaces the daily afternoon update as there was/is a Cobra meeting going on.
Could be the Big One yet.

As in "why don't all kids get free school meals"?

Don't see a 'lock down' (whatever that means, seems to be a buzzword for the last few days) announced later. Yesterday the press conference mood was very much about preserving the ability to be outdoors sensibly.

US unemployment benefit claim forecast for next week, plotted alongside actual values for the past.

That seems too complicated a message for parts of the populace. A hard & fast rule stands a greater chance of being obeyed, at least it conveys the seriousness better.

All kids below a certain age get them, regardless of income.

I expect a set of personal restrictions.
It has to happen sooner or later.
I wfh but it angers me when I see the tube reduced service forcing everyone onto the same trains. Standing room only when 90% or so of us aren't even travelling. -

Crazy how it's going to inform and overshadow everything coming, Olympics, US elections, Brexit. And it's happened so fast.

Come back Brexit as the shitest thing happening - all is forgiven

Was out in Borough yesterday leafleting yesterday, very quiet streets, no one in local park. Did seem like the end of days. Today was on Queensway W2, surprisingly busy. Queue of 8-10 people out in the street for the post office. Boots and Superdrug seemed to be only letting a few people in the shops and a time. Tesco Express wasn't busy, had fresh food, I got some milk, oranges, bread. Sainsbury Local was also quiet, was able to get some fresh pasta! Only bought 1 pack, suppose I should have cleared the shelf...

Queensway is a hive of bullshit

be put up somewhere rather than go home.
Health workers in Luxembourg are doing that if they don't live near their workplaces. Interestingly the government extends the hotel accommodation offer to their families (if they have one) so that as long as they're testing negative they can "decompress" by spending a bit of time with their loved ones.
I thought the same thing
