  • Cheers. I've encountered one or two bugs before (e.g. the soldier interface in the barracks not showing up, or a VIP on an escort mission not registering that my soldier is right next to him already), but they were all fixable by saving and restarting the game - so not too bad so far.

    @duncs

I'm currently playing EU, once I fail this I might switch to EW as I'm slowly getting the feeling of having a (very basic) handle on all the elements. It's a lot of fun so far definitely!

  • Any suggestions why my Xbox is so shit at installing games?

Trying to install half a dozen games from games pass and they're all constantly starting and stopping. Left it on overnight with the expectation they'd all be installed but instead most stuff is just part installed.

  • Animal Crossing couldn’t be released on better date.

Decided to close our restaurant for at least a month so there will be lots of spare time.

Totally addicted to it already, can’t put it down.

  • I don't game a huge amount usually, but it's gone kinda nuts over the last week or so. Got the comment from my girlfriend today:
is this what it's going to be like the whole time? You just playing your games?

  • Just picked up Phantom Doctrine for super cheap on Switch. Stealth focussed XCOM'em up set during the cold war.

Ticks a lot of my boxes, apparently the execution isn't great, but we'll see how it goes.

The Swindle is also super cheap, procedurally generated theiving simulator rougelite set in a steampunk Victorian London.

  • Sorry to hear that.

Lost a whole day to AC today. Really lovely game.

  • Fallout IV

Should I have just bought a Sims / Civ game?

I've spent all the time I've had the game just building stuff.

  • then you've played the most fun bit

  • Doom eternal - Only had a chance to play a couple of levels and pretty damn good, Even though I got destroyed very quickly.

  • Biding my time before buying that X Box, as I haven't had much time I'd have been using it so far.

Where can I go to buy/abandonware Doom, Doom II and Unreal Tournament?

  • Sunk some hours into Jedi Fallen Order over the weekend. Holy cow, you actually have to learn the fighting system. If I keep a cool head I can do bossfights no problem. If I just blindly run in (especially into larger groups) I get my arse kicked in no time at all.

    Been enjoying it madly, though.

  • Dark Souls with lightsabres? Sign me up

  • Can anyone recommend an online collab game that's easy to pick up and play for an hour or two at a time? Ideally not a FPS.

  • Probably. I heard the combat system is very similar to Sekiro. Never played that though.

Also I just plain suck at fighting games, so YMMV.

It's mad cool though. I enjoy the Jedi Knight / Jedi Academy vibe. That were the games I spent my childhood with. Much Jump/Run, and less arcadey "kill enormous hordes of enemies" feel than Force Unleashed.

  • still trying to find it for a decent (under £30 inc p+p) price on ebay, but not having much success. Feels like it's currently must have game for the self isolating gamer..

  • Got it for around 40€ on Steam as it was on Sale. Most I've spent on a Video Game in ages. But isolation + childhood memories were enough. :D

  • Unreal Tournament

Not sure if you're looking for console specific, but UT's been in my Steam library for as long as I can remember. Still active servers last time I checked (a few months back), will likely fire that up this evening so thanks for the nudge!

  • Jedi Fallen Order is £40 download on ps store at the mo if you can find a tenner down the back of the sofa. cheaper than physical copy from amazon.

  • For PC. I went and installed Steam and bought it but my home PC is cack. Hopefully I can get it going on my work laptop later and go on a KILLING SPREE

  • Got that intro music stuck in my head now.

This might be worth looking into if you need a fix of 90's style FPS action: https://www.gog.com/game/dusk

Though UT and Quake still hold up very well, so may not have any need.

  • @cornelius_blackfoot @HatBeard
PSN gift cards are always cheaper on ShopTo, for free money.
The £35 card is £28.85 and best value (82.4%) (I have a spreadsheet)
    You get £6.15 free.

  • Any Xbox One, Ps4 or Switch for sale?

Looking for my boyfriend non gamer to kill some time these days.

Preferably Xbox to get GamePass and try out what suits him.

    Thanks!

  • Verdict on new Doom?

  • I like it.
Good humour, quite hard, Metal sound track.
Online asymmetrical multi player is fun but I want more modes.

If you liked Doom 2016 you'll most likely enjoy it.
If you haven't, get it instead for a few quid to see if you like the style

  • I did enjoy 2016. So quite tempted.
