  • Few upgrades to mine that was initially posted on the first page. 105 11sp, and new dynamo wheels thanks to @BirdBrain. Enforced time off hopefully means it’ll get ridden a bit more. And hopefully time to sort out the rear light mount, bit of a bodge with zip ties and wine corks at present. Anyone had success with the Brompton light mount on a full size bike?

  • @jaeyukdapbap has done a neat job on his Brother

  • Yep - used on both a genesis flyer and brother allday. You’ll need some spacers to stop it hitting the seat stays. Other than that easy peasy and cheap!

  • That's awesome...

  • Thanks, it’s a very smooth ride.

  • What are these guards? SKS Bluemels Primus? What width?

  • SKS Edge AL 56 Mudguards - 700c x 56mm - Matt Black

  • While @R.hobbs is correct. I wouldn’t buy from his constant SJS spam. A lot cheaper elsewhere. I think I paid just over £30.

  • I can find them for £25 ;)

  • I know that he works at SJS, but I also now SJS to be the place for a lot of othervise difficult to source components. They are definitely a shop worth supporting.

  • Oh, I agree. I shop there quite a bit. I ordered a supernova rear light last week. Just the constant spam is a bit much.

  • I know you pay £5 for postage but that’s also the case with SJS. I did order tyres at the same time (also cheaper than SJS :) )

sorry! I just know what stuff we have, mostly, and therefore easy to find, I fully except you to then search google for stuff! If you buy via sjs, thanks!

  • Our postage, unlike others, is paid. We have done tests only charging £1 postage but it would be unfeasible to actually run a business like that without being CRC/wiggle which is something we do not fancy! Our UK postage tops out at £5 for standard post unless you order a tonne of stuff / a bike.

  • You could just say the product name, not a link to the shop you work at.

  • amended, hope that keeps you content :)

  • You could just ignore his links and spend your time doing something other than moaning about someone helping other forumengers out.

  • I do and have every time I have seen it in the past. Spamming when someone asks me a question tips the balance in book. YMMV.

  • I understand constant links to SJS may be annoying but remember you’re supporting a genuine U.K. bike shop not a load of investment cunts (wiggle, CRC, bike24 etc etc) who are often selling stuff at trade or less to fuck independent bike shops out of business.

  • And I do shop with them. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. My last order was the on 14/3. Not the cheapest but I knew they would have stock.

  • I don't get their description about the 3 mounting points required, does that mean that you can mount them without the seatstay mount and they will remain stiff and in place? Thinking specifically about Vagabond/Longitude that have all the mudguard mounts except the seatstay bridge.

  • I wouldn’t recommend that. Mine rattles with a brake bridge but I have trimmed it that will make it substantially less stiff.

  • This. They're a great independent shop. Probably have one of the largest Brompton inventory too!
