Haha yeah, I've been stocking up slowly to spread the expense :P I really need to try not to just hang in front of the PC, game and drink a pint though.

Hk just banned all foreign visitors and bars are not allowed to sell booze. the infulx of students heading home as unis close may have influenced this and also lots of expats not adhering to "best not to go out drinking in tightly packed streets"
From a week agoThings have been OK here so maybe letting our guard down abit just had 39 new case's. (Small potatoes to the UK I know)

I disagree, it's just not realistic to expect individual 'hygiene' to solve that problem.
I don't recall saying hygiene will solve any problem? It is very important to mitigating risks and preventing spread, however.

Mainly the impact that sars had and people went in ocd clean mode with hand sanitizer maybe wearing maks to stop spreading via coughing
( although up to debate) Most people not going out in large groups, temp checks on work buildings and some restaurants. But I think a paranoia that sars put in people meant they are just very careful.. -

Is there now better information on the typical asymptomatic period for Covid-19?
Last I read was ~ 2 days.
But also .....
~ 20% of people never show symptoms.

Just to add, this roughly matches the under reporting estimates given last week by Vallance (5,000-10,000 cases with 500 reported).
