Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc but I’d have gone for Cinelli 1R or Shimano AX... Nitto even...

How has a high-end frame received such crappy components

All would have been nice. I went for the murex because it suits the age of the frame, matched the bars I had and most importantly, is a 2 bolt clamp stem.

Very nice! Seatpost is a nice neo classic, stem not so much (too many surfaces going on). An old stock 3ttt Motus or 3ttt Evol would look miles better on this.

If i see one I will change it I think. But it's nice to have all the matching deda and a 2 bolt stem.

Got it finished today. It is stunning!

Got my aa specials place on the wall sorted. Under a print of the catalogue from the model year. Sad I know....but makes me happy

Looks like wheels might have been fitted as some point though.

In two minds. It’s a bike and should be ridden and sure very nicely. On the other hand can’t be many around like this anymore. I’d like to put it on wall for the time being but other half not very up for that.

That has blown me away. What a find! I say build it with modern 12 speed campag and ride it on the two hottest days of the year. Its too nice to keep it indoors
