  • Mad dogs and Englishman 2020 version:

NEWSFLASH: Corona virus, stay at home!

Woohoo, sunshine. Footy in the park anyone? Pass me a beer Dave....

    We're doomed.

  • Can we have another few pages of people describing where they have been, and how other people were in said locations not following advise and putting everyone at risk FFS

  • Central Park, East Ham has been open.. with joggers, dog walkers, groups of alcoholics and kids smoking ‘erbs.. And why do some men think it’s acceptable to spit on the ground, as bad as dog sh!t.. ffs

I’m still waiting for state of emergency across London as this is not getting better..

  • Todays club strava results are in showing a few have done 70 mile rides and 1 doing 111 today . Chapo knob hope you feel really good about yourself tonight

  • You know it's perfectly possible to go to places without contradicting the advise, right?

I.e me staying in my house for 23.5 hours and then taking my dog for a piss in the park by myself is not the same as ringing up my mates and having a picnic and BBQ in the park.

  • I just want some onions without being close to people on the way.

  • I was out and about today and couldn't help but notice how many others were out and about as well. They are stupid.

  • The shielding thing they are laying out sounds good. Hope it works. Targeting the most at risk and cutting down their exposure.

  • Pubs, cafes, cinemas, museums, theatres, art galleries, many shops closed. Seeing a lot of people in the park (especially when you're one of them) should not be a huge surprise as there are fewer places for people to be. We don't know if those in parks are a small portion of the number of people who would have been out otherwise or not. We don't know what portion of the people who were in these parks were doing it responsibly. This is frustrating, but worth keeping in mind.

  • Sure, today I've mostly been social distancing in Leicester Square and Haymarket

    Trafalgar Square

Chinatown (in case Donald Trump is watching, its not in China)

    Shaftsbury Avenue and Piccadilly

    Kingsway and the Aldwych

    Heading over to St Paul's

    High Holburn

Tower of London and the Bollock

I did Oxford St yesterday so thought I'd try some new places today.

And a remarkably effective social distancing strategy it was too, didn't get remotely near anyone.

My highest risk activity for the day was getting milk from my local corner shop earlier.

All the dumb fuckers seem to be in the park and up Snowden ;)

For those old enough to remember who Patrick McGoohhan was:
    Soon....

  • Poland get it, providing for all school and uni age learners access to a state run Minecraft server, help with school work, quizes, game dev webinars, game dev tournaments, online RPG sessions with human gamemasters via discord (Witcher, FATE, Trudvang, Warhammer 4th ed., D&D, Alien, KNAVE, Call of Cthulhu, Mouse Guard and other)

  • This latest update feels hugely disappointing. Absolute lack of leadership and strategy at this stage.
Good news at least is that over the weekend we have lots of ventilators.
Most likely found at the bottom of a container in Tilbury.
We need legal enforcement of no public and private gatherings. And move to next level restrictions of personal freedom. Something our indecisive leader seems too scared to call. What a pussy. What a fckng shitshow.

  • Maybe the puppet masters have taken the weekend off to go the park leaving the puppets speechless.

  • Amazing scenes.

    My day -

    Did a family facetime.
Fell asleep in a chair in the garden.
Waved at my brother who dropped a newspaper round.
    Made a brioche.
    Brewed some IPA.
Replaced one brake pad on the brompton and gave up after being unable to get the grub screw out of the second one.
    Gin and tonic.

  • Nail meet head.

  • I was out and about today and couldn't help but notice how many others were out and about as well. They are stupid.

    :-)

  • My local corner shop has rationing in place, but thankfully not on beer, so Defcon 4 not reached yet.

I've got to say too, virus aside the last few days have been the best air quality in London EVER in the 20+ years I've been here. The constant stench of diesel is wonderfully absent, I hope that is being recorded somewhere.

Estimates suggest early evening bogie excavations down 60%

  • Todays club strava results are in showing a few have done 70 mile rides and 1 doing 111 today . Chapo knob hope you feel really good about yourself tonight

    1 person or one group?

Nothing wrong with a solo ride is there?

  • And move to next level restrictions of personal freedom.

Their idea is to use these measures when they are most effective in the overall plan, that plan could be months long. Their plan from the start was that people would spread it, most vulnerable would be withdrawn and it would move through the population at a rate that the NHS could about deal with. Without seeing their plan, can we presume that more restrictions are needed now? I'm not arguing for the plan, but I reckon some are confused with the realities of it.

  • a few have done 70 mile rides and 1 doing 111 today

Group rides? Not cool if so. Solo all good though.

  • Daughter in the so far no cases Snowdonia says the the locals are getting pissed off .

  • Yeah I went for a mosey round central london today at around 8am. Wonderfully quiet, empty and air felt noticeably cleaner. Was really quite a nice and relaxing experience.

  • Made a brioche.

    Brewed some IPA.

    Winning at life

  • The modelling from SAGE suggests the numbers are just too large to be managed. We know what happens when resources run out. It’s unnecessary death.

If the government knows something we don’t (more capacity imminent, or different modelling) then I wish they’d show and tell.

  • I don’t want to go to work tomorrow.
I work outside, have to share cramped work trucks with 1-2 other lads. Come in contact with the public. No hand washing facilities as we’re working out of trucks.

Not worried for myself but it seems pretty fucking stupid that they’re still operating.
