I've just finished Outline by Rachel Cusk, and started Transit straight away.
Kudos is the third in the trilogy. Mrs GB loved them (we read Outline in our book club). Also got her Coventry which is a collection of essays that she also really liked.
1/3 of the way through A Canticle for Leibowitz. Enjoying it...

I'll post some potentials over the weekend to see what you think. Will probably have some titles you'll enjoy.

That looks really interesting.

(dredge apology)
The Lukyanenko Watch series goes to 6 (Night, Day, Twilight, Last, New and Sixth)
Day is probably my least favourite. -

Just finished Superforecsating, had it for years unread but the Cummings hiring that moron and quoting read Tetlock inspired me to read it, really enjoyed it in the end
Now started never split the difference which seems an easy read so far

In well over a year I'm not even half way into this bastard, should see me through the apocalypse

You know that's one of the most egotistically wrong books in history?
-
• #3962
I do now, thanks

Well, it is a culturally important book in a very ironic way, so not without interest.

I didn't know that. Looks like I read books 1-4 before 5 and 6 were released. Maybe I'll re-read them.
-
• #3965
I recently bought them all on Kindle for a re-read.
I love them -

Are there any decent audiobook apps other than audible? I don't really like Amazon and the selection isn't all that great.
Also, I went a bit mad buying books yesterday in anticipation of being shut in for a while! -

Anyone else finding they're not getting much reading done at the moment? Self-isolation sounds great, but I've found my concentration's shot, and together with the homeschooling/entertainment committee/housework I've barely turned a page. Maybe I just need to pick up a trashy novel.

By Kindle do you mean audible? Audible has about the biggest selection going but overdrive is also worth a look and might be available via your library, haven't used it in a longtime as Audible just seemed better

Can anyone recommend a book, I imagine it would have a title something like A year in the life of the British Countryside and shows what should be happening and to look out for by month. Just been for a walk and a couple of local ponds just surprised me by out absent of life they were but maybe it is too early in the year and I don't realise it. Thanks

Yes, sorry! Read someone's post mentioning a kindle and went into autopilot. Will edit. Will have a look at Overdrive, thanks!

This one is quite nice: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Almanac-Seasonal-Guide-2020/dp/1784725218/ref=dp_ob_title_bk
It's not exactly what you're asking for as it's a bit more broad-ranging, but you might enjoy it all the same.

I'm trying to decide whether or not it's a good idea to re-read The Plague by Camus...

Ordered 11 books to be delivered to work in anticipation of eventually being told not to come in. The call came too early so now I'm stuck at home for weeks with 11 books sat at work...
In light of that, I'm going to buy more books. Someone save me from myself and recommend something that isn't Philip K Dick or Milan Kundera.
I'm planning to read as much as possible whilst locked down, I'm not an anxious person but everything's getting a bit much (as I'm sure it is with everyone) and reading seems to be the best way to switch off for a bit!
In fremden Gärten.
We read Alles, was fehlt in class and then I bought the book.
It's got a very similar coldness and strangeness to it as Cusk's book, and a similar sense of menace.
