I highly recommend Lincolnshire Poacher at £19.50/kg
Sort of like a rustic, more waxy-textured Comte/Gruyere crossed with a mature Cheddar. Has pineapple and pear notes and goes nicely with a dark ale or Belgian beer.

I can get sergical masks here in HK but not the n95.
can I help by sending any? -
• #6457
I've been looking into shipping some from here, we have tons - however there are lots of restrictions so I'd check what the deal is in HK. I'm currently speaking to a Chinese mask importer in the UK, if it works out then I will post the details here.

👍👍 Cool.

Do think any restrictions sending maks in HK post offices had big ques of people sending boxes yesterday me and Missis G qued for about 40mins to send some bits to her sister.

I’ve put a cheese order in to my local dairy who is now doing delivery last night and have emailed him to add this last minute, hope he manages to!

Went for a xc ride with my 15yo son and rode past Ightham Mote (a National Trust gaff).
All NT locations have opened the doors for free. I'm sure this was a well intended gesture, I think the idea was to give people a place to get some fresh air, but fuck me! Ightham Mote was chockablock. Literally rammed. And all the bridleways surrounding it. I've never seen anything like it.
Big groups of people together, families with babies and toddlers and their decrepid grandparents. It was literally full of elderly folk who looked like they were about to croak even without the virus. And hoards of parents with young kids running about and even into them. I've never seen it so packed. No one seemed to give a fuck.
If that's happening up and down the country, we're fucked. The death count is going to colossal.

Just read this:
Good to see they've reacted to it. I guess ightham mote wasn't an exception then.

Course it is, our government's inaction in the past weeks has lured everyone into a false sense of security, once people realise it will be far, far to late.
-
• #6465
Do you think a Labour government would have handled it better?
-
• #6466
Yes without a doubt but there would have probably been some sort of coup to get rid of Corbyn by now I imagine.
-
• #6467
Can you say what sort of things a Labour/Corbyn government would have done better?
-
• #6468
Anyone know what the tax situation would be with the government paying (up to) 80% of salaries? On the one hand most people would take home more without paye and NI deductions and I guess not making the deductions would royally confuse the annual calculations, but on the hand it seems odd that they'll provide individuals with a sum of money then immediately take a chunk of it back.

A lot of people have been asking this sort of question, but in return I would ask this- what’s the point? Corbyn lost, choosing to war game a different timeline in order to deflect attention from what is happening in ours doesn’t seem like the best use of our time.

I agree. The Tories have been pretty good in my view. The situation is almost impossible regardless of who is in power. And just saying things like we should be more like the Chinese or the Koreans ignores our ability to be like the Chinese or the Koreans.

Top trolling there Dov.
We can just wait and see how the UK does compared to other nations and judge the current govt on that basis.
At the moment the verdict isn't great.

Closed bars and pubs much earlier, stopped events like Cheltenham and the Liverpool match going ahead, had a clear strategy and not decided to just “take it on the chin” before a massive u turn and changing strategy.

We could just lower Cummings and Milne into a pit to fight for our entertainment.

Course it is, our government's inaction in the past weeks has lured everyone into a false sense of security, once people realise it will be far, far to late.
Just wondering, what have you personally done that's gone beyond the government's recommendations? For how long have you been self-isolating?

I'm not trolling, not at all.
This view that we should have enacted all these draconian measures immediately is nonsense. We can't even stop educted people on here thinking it's ok to go for a low-risk bike ride.
Easing the country into social distancing might cause x deaths while going full tilt and then having it unravel might cause y deaths.
I say it again. I think they're doing an ok job in impossible circumstances. If everyone just listened to the advice we'd be better off.
You can thank those experts on the media for telling people that fruit and veg are
