Yeah that's what it is. Just wanted to see if it was universal for all and if there was any other restrictions. They emailed me today to say we're now only allowed 5 for the ceremony, utter delight.

Two of those watches share a movement.
It's a shame you couldn't afford to have a movement in each.

They're good in that they're one of the only dive watches that actually fits under a shirt cuff & don't look too sporty compared to others!
Just didn't want to bring a dress watch then leave the omega in an Airbnb which any number of people could have the key to! -

I'm in NZ for the wedding so different rules; 100 person gatherings is the limit but all the bars & restaurants seem to be way over that! The travel restrictions are a pain (our flights keep being cancelled) but other than that it's pretty much business as usual here.
Don't envy you on that dilemma! Just so hard to say which way it will go - good luck with it all though!

Nice summer watch suggestions?
More of a casual watch...
I am very bored which usually means I do stupid shit and watch prices are falling.

Buying watches seems to be the last thing on my mind, although I see the absolute arse falling out of the luxury goods market new and vintage so if you’re in a recession proof job with savings to burn, the world’s your (Rolex) oyster.

Madness, just one infected person at that wedding and that’s carnage. I know it’s bad timing but I wouldn’t attend.
-
• #43139
I think I read that a wedding in Australia ended up with 31 covid-19 infected guests and another in South Korea with 44 infected guests. The SK one was from a single infected guest.
There is literally no justification for a wedding with guests.

I must clarify I am so bored I’m seeing how many burpees I can do a day.
Work mostly in the drinks/biogas market so relatively recession proof.
To clarify though I’m mostly looking for things to distract my days. Wfh/social distancing isn’t good for my hyperactive child brain.

Nomos Club 40mm on a fabric or rubber strap?
https://nomos-glashuette.com/en/club/club-automatic-751
Or a white dial Seiko like the new Alpinist or one of the enamel dial ones?
Dunno why white dial = summer for me. Lots of nice green dials coming out at the moment as well. TBH any diver on a bracelet is a candidate for a great summer watch.

Nomos’ and grand seikos are what peaked my interest.
Agree white dial and leather is ideally what I am after. At least until my plan is thwarted by our need to finish the other two bedrooms.

Is there a kit available that allows you to build a watch mechanism, and therefore learn how it all goes together?
-
• #43147
I think the preferred approach is to take an inclusive course where you’re shown all the techniques, and come away with a finished working watch. Much like a framebuilding course. I have seen some in the past but have no idea what’s a good one.

Ahhhhhh..... For the watches with the shared mechanism....
Poor guy

I have bought a couple of old mechanicals from eBay and have started taking them to bits.
Very therapeutic in these stressful times and learning lots from it.

What I did is get an old Seiko with a 7S26 movement from eBay and follow http://www.clockmaker.com.au/diy_seiko_7s26/
I assumed Bride, Groom, Vicar plus 2 witnesses
