gf just got told by nursery that the boy can continue going as she's a key worker in broadcasting. She schedules the ads for a cable channel. And she does it bloody well, but still.
Guessing many of these commercial enterprises will be trying to shoehorn as many people as possible into 'key worker' status to keep themselves afloat.

I don't know the figures but I suspect that a lot of people spend nearly 80% of their income just paying rent and essential bills.

Beer was rationed
The scariest three words ever on this thread. This is Threads stuff. ;)
Which did you go for then?

4x stateside IPAs (& 2x ghost dance Pale ales as they were under a different SKU which apparently makes it fine).

All my local breweries have been delivering beer and giving good deals.

We do a lot of work with distilleries.
Most are changing over to make hands sanitiser after a ridiculously lengthy process with hmrc. I know of one company who had to dash to St Johns Ambulance and collect a box they delicered foc as it was going to end them in all sorts of shit.
All sorted now for them though. They are mostly giving it in donations to those in need.

What's the police to normal person ratio in Spain? How does it compare to England?
I just wonder how they would plan to enforce that here having run the numbers of police down. -

@radar
I remember a story during the millennium bug scare where they supposedly had to make space in the Australian desert for planes to land as there wasn't enough room in the airports for all planes in the world to be grounded at the same time.
Wondering if that was true, and if so, what about the plane parking management now? -

Northwick Park´s full.
"A senior director at another London acute trust told HSJ: “Given we’re in the low foothills of this virus, this is f***ing petrifying.""
As linked in the Hyde column. Edit: sorry, Guardian view.

I couldn't give you any figures but, anecdotally, I'd say much higher. Mainly the local police but also if there is a big event you see the national police too.
Over the last week I'd honestly say I've seen a police car go by most times I've been staring out the window. At the freedom.

Here's an odd one - James (my cat) spends most of his time at the house of Ian and Judy, then he comes back to me when he wants food. Ian and Judy are I would say late fifties, early sixties - although I'm a rubbish judge of age tbh.
Can Corona Virus survive on a cats fur? I imagine that it can as James is, in a way, just another surface. I don't want to endanger Ian and Judy, nor do I want them to endanger me. James of course would not understand any of this.

guys i just had the director of a major healthcare organisation weeping down the phone to me mashing pringles into her hair. this is so much worse than in italy!!!!!!
Beer was rationed in my Aldi in a particularly stupid way - 4 of each item only, regardless of pack size, so I could get 4 crates of shit beer but no 6 cans of nice stuff 🤦♂️
