What are we expecting from the BoJo Show later on? Gyms and other places like cinemas/cinemas to close? Beginning of a London lockdown?

Just got back from a recreational cycle in north london. Felt guilty and not sure i'll go again. People driving like epic cunts, although nothing exceptional about that.
What was weird was was a strange sense of normalcy, more like Sunday morning just after the shops had opened.

I did also get a nice card from local volunteer corp, giving name and number if we needed help

allow people to participate in recreational sport a significant distance from their homes.
Woah, this was "cycling banned". No one said anything about recreation or distance from home just that cycling was banned in France and we should prepare for it here.

Was at GP picking up sick line after phone consultation (not corona related)-had to wait one at a time inside entry vestibule, speak through closed door and have paper passed out. All fine.
Gammony looking guy waiting outside behind me moaning to me about "Draconian" measures.
Pointed out that if our healthcare workers all get it we won't do so well, to which indistinct mumbling and a shake of the head was his reply. Boomers are a bunch of silly cunt-ends, aren't they?

If he is maybe he's on to something. You can make cheese to eat straight away but also some that have to mature, and it keeps you occupied during the day.

So economic focus again?
Money for people as well as businesses perhaps? -

Yeah for now. For fuck’s sake don’t fall off though - that won’t help the argument.

Anyone taking the working from home as a chance to work on things they wouldn't otherwise?
I'm enjoying trying to grow a beard as I have a child face.

A Couple of points:
UK society construes cycling as a risky thing to do (hence all the
helmet crap here). As has been pointed out its less risky than
climbing stairs and in some instances walking. So moving to ban to
reduce a strain on the emergency services dealing with crashes is
crazy. Clearly anyone going out potentially can spread the virus
though perhaps less so by cycling instead of walking or travelling on
public transport. So while we are still not in lock-down cycling
should be encourages.Secondly, cargo cycle companies will be contributing to delivering
stuff to people who really need things (My company is gearing up to
this as I mentioned here ). We and other companies I've been speaking
to believe that cargo cycle delivery riders will be listed as
essential workers for the duration. To repeat (again): Nobody (as far as I can see) is claiming that that cycling should be banned as a form of transport. And cargo bike delivery is a great idea.
The ban in France is on sports/recreational cycling. In the UK you are still permitted to go for a cycle ride if you personally chose to do so, and (until two days at ago at least) Sport England even recommend it, but the situation is changing very quickly as govts assess the success (or not) and effects of different containment measures in other countries. France has moved to a further level of containment measures than currently enforced in the UK, because the previous ones weren't considered sufficient, and banning recreational/sportive cycling is part of that next level. The UK may soon be implementing stricter measures too, and the cycling ban may be part of that too. If so, it will be for a reason.
As has been pointed out its less risky than climbing stairs and in some instances walking.
Honestly, this is just stupid.

Teachers going to make up GCSE and A level scores based on magic and best wishes. A-level classes are going to be busy next year!
At our school we have a fairly robust set of ongoing assessment and mock exam scores. Which is all well and good except it's well established that a lot of kids put minimal effort into the mock exams and rely on putting in a good performance in the exams after two months of revision... So some kids are screwed and others sitting pretty. -

This is my concern, my youngest decided to follow his sister's example and do fuck all and then ace the exams. It worked for her at both GCSE and A level.
