If you crashed and needed emergency support you take resources away from where they are needed.

roaring twenties
If it's anything like Great Gatsby (started watching this last night) I'm in. I think my liver thinks it's been in the roaring 20s for the last 30 years already though.

Plus, im riding my fg beater with the worst ratio ever... No speed all the leg ache...
I will have to do it sneakily when the curfew kicks in.

And even if its not, I usually just dust myself off, ride home, and put a booboo plaster on it.

> This point was made a few days ago by the guy who set up London Union, when the hospitality industry was claiming that the government's failure to mandate closure meant they couldn't claim. And he was right, most policies would cover the loss of revenue from closure, just not for Covid-19.
He was wrong. A standard business interruption policy wording contains two extensions worth examining;
Action by Police, Government or Other Competent Authority
The prevention or restriction of access to, or the closure of, The Premises by any Police, Government or other
competent authority due to an emergency event within the distance stated in The Schedule of the boundary of
The Premises that causes or threatens a danger or disturbance.
The provisions of any Automatic Reinstatement Clause does not apply to this Clause.
We will not provide cover for
(1) any action taken in controlling, preventing or suppressing the spread of any disease.
(2) any danger or disturbance caused wholly or partly by You, or through Your misconduct, connivance, neglect
or omission.
(3) any interruption or interference lasting less than the consecutive hours stated in The Schedule.See exclusion (1) where ANY disease is clearly excluded, not just Covid19.
Specified Diseases, Food Poisoning, Vermin Pests and Defective Sanitation, Murder or Suicide
We will provide cover in respect of interruption or interference with The Business during the Period of Insurance
following
(1) a Specified Disease occurring at The Premises or within the distance in miles from the boundary of The
Premises stated in The Schedule
(2) any person contracting an illness caused by food or drink poisoning, which is directly attributable to food or
drink supplied from The Premises
(3) the discovery of an organism at The Premises which is likely to result in any person contracting an illness
caused by food or drink poisoning or a Specified Disease
(4) the discovery of vermin or pests, or any accident causing defects in the drains or other sanitary
arrangements, at The Premises
(5) any occurrence of murder or suicide at The Premises which restricts the use of or results in closure of The
Premises on the order or advice of the competent authority, and directly results in a reduction in the
Turnover of The Business or where insured by this Section, a reduction in Revenue, Fees, or Rentals.
The provisions of any Automatic Reinstatement Clause do not apply in respect of this Additional Cover
We will not provide cover
(1) at The Premises, if in relation to any claim arising directly or indirectly from an occurrence of Legionellosis or
Legionnaires Disease You have failed to ensure compliance at all times with the Health and Safety
Commissions Approved Code of Practice, “The Prevention and Control of Legionellosis (including
Legionnaires Disease)“ Ref ISBN-0-7176-1772- 6 or any supplementary, replacement or amending Code of
Practice.
(2) for any costs incurred in cleaning, repair, replacement, recall or checking of property
(3) for reduction in the turnover of any premises, or where insured by this Section, a reduction in Revenue,
Fees, or Rentals caused by
(a) any occurrence of a Specified Disease not at The Premises or not within the distance in miles from the
boundary of The Premises stated in The Schedule
(b) food poisoning, vermin, pest, defective sanitation, murder or suicide, not occurring at The Premises.
For the purposes of this Additional Cover, the following definitions apply
Indemnity Period
The period during which the results of The Business are affected due to the accident, occurrence or discovery
starting from the date The Premises are closed or their use restricted and ending not later than the Maximum
Indemnity Period.
Maximum Indemnity Period
As stated in The Schedule.

Well, despite Johnson's ridiculous 'turning the tide in 12 weeks' promise, the fact that they are passing draconian state powers for 2 years gives a better indication of how long it'll take to sort out. IMO.

Cool, but if you read the what THE GUARDIAN wrote you'll see they literally wrote:
France has tightened the rules of who can go out by banning sports cycling
So, yeah, it does say that?
And if you follow the link @Philbythesea shared, you can read this quote from the French cycling federation:
"De ce fait, la pratique du sport cycliste communément admise, n’entre pas dans les conditions prévues au décret et constitue donc une infraction susceptible de verbalisation. En effet, ces conditions de proximité et de temps court sont antinomiques avec les notions d’entraînement du sport cycliste basées sur des notions de distance et de temps long. Toute pratique du sport cycliste, même individuelle, doit donc être momentanément proscrite."

we need to be doing more to protect the elderly.
Who is we? Around here they're all roaming the streets.

I've just been to Iceland for bread and most of the other people there were 70+, paying with cash and staff weren't washing hands between customers.
God knows what 'we' are meant to do. Stay at home if we're sick, I guess. Wash our hands. Talk to our parents.

Why are supermarkets ok but pubs not? I get takeaways from my pub so it's not like my interaction is any different from going to the supermarket. The difference is this pub is a tiny small business and the supermarkets are massive and will be fine after all this whereas my little pub might not.
Going out out and getting pissed up with a group, yeah, that's dumb. But so are all the fuckwits buying up everything from supermarkets.

I don't have any contact with old people. I don't really have any contact with people.
I see people down the street when getting food but unless one of them comes near me I ain't going near them.
I use contactless at the pub and the kebab shop and make the missus carry all the groceries hahaha -

I'm a pro crasher, I can handle myself...
Until the time that you can't. Until the time that the next accident is worse, and you need stitches, or a cast, or an ambulance...
Only times I've ever needed medical assistance when cycling is because
someone has driven a car into meWhich might happen again whilst you're cycling. And then you might need an ambulance, and need medical help. And if you have the virus, you might transfer that to those helping you. Or they might transfer it to you.
As well as the issue of spreading the virus, it's all about minimizing risk at the moment, and minimizing the strain on the medical services. Keeping a basic level of heatlth fitness is important, obviously, but you can do that by going jogging round the block a few times if nececessary. Equally, using a bike as transport is logical, and practical. What they are getting at is that Rapharin' up and going out for a 2 hour ride is not essential to anyone, and has the (albeit possibly very small) possibility of adding extra strain on medical services at the time they can least afford it.
Plus there's that whole attitude of "it's only me doing it, I'm careful, the risk/effect is so small..."
If everyone takes the same attitude (and why shouldn't they, if you or I can), then everyone starts doing whatever they want, and then we complain that no-one's listeing to the advice being given, so the govt/police clamp down harder, we complain about govt/police heavy handedness, Judge Dredd and the First Order get wheeled out to keep us all in line, and the zombie apocalypse is on us quicker than we can say "that's Egg from This Life!"Admittedly it's a bit easier for me to make the sacrifice, my wife's a nurse at the local general hospital so she's seeing the effects of everything first-hand, and I got a withering response when I suggested last week that I could still maybe pop out for a few short rides in the mornings. I really want to go out cycling. It's 21 degrees here this afternoon, sunny, bright blue sky, and in 5 mins I'm up in the hills of the Ardeche. My kids really want me to take them to the park too, but I can't do that either.

Well this is the problem with blindly quoting editorial isn't it? The French cycling federation are saying that sports cycling should be prohibited. That is not the same as 'Cycling banned in France', whatever the Guardian say.
Can someone tell me why cycling on your own outside for exercise is frowned on?
