One local restaurant to us has closed to sit ins and is doing one last night of deliveries/collections.

It's also selling gift cards that can be spent with a 15% discount when they're able to reopen. I guess that's one way to lessen the blow for the next few months. Worth a punt and it'll hopefully help see them through.

If you try and buy paracetamol here (China) you have to show your passport or ID card and sign a bunch of forms saying you don't have a fever. If you try to buy it online you get a phone call from the district management, I guess if you buy it too often you get a visit from the men in hazmat suits. Shame as Chinese paracetamol is super strong and really kills a hangover.

Mortgage holiday will help if approved but there's still utilities / vehicle tax / MOT etc. Well aware of comparative privilege and that despite a lack of toilet paper we still have a roof over our heads for the next few months at least. But I'd say the business is dead after 5+ years of trading.

I don't think home ownership precludes you but having savings over £16k and/or a partner earning a certain amount disqualifies you. If you're married or cohabiting with a partner, you have to make a joint application and your incomes are assessed together.
