I have no idea, but it does, perfectly so far...
My mobo has dp in that feeds the tb3 port which is unique.

Ha, maybe you should? You sound more competent than me with hacks but I still have my instal USB so you could get everything up and running dead quick (you noticed Clover is no longer being supported? I dont think it works past 10.15.3 due to patches - maybe).
