Speaking of Switch handheld, my hands are too big so I got one of these

and it's made it so much better -

Good call - may give that a go. Currently blasting away on CS:GO which has the advantage of being quick. Prior to this had been getting back into FO4.
Cyberpunk 2077 picked a really bad time to be delayed.

what time (uk) is the ps5 announcement/live feed?
got excited after I read it was backwards compatible. -
• #21705
huh, didn't know that existed. It's impossible to play (comfortably) handheld for me for the same reason. The stupid handheld bits of Zelda were a nightmare.

edit - Well that was weird, not really worth watching unless you want in depth info on their SSD and audio architecture.

What games for the coming apocalypse?
I need something that I can jump in and out of, that won't drive the other half nuts with repetitive tunes, and that won't have a toddler wanting a go.
I have ordered Fallout 4 for PS4 though (as my laptop just doesn't have enough power for it).
I was playing The Talos Principle, but had to stop as it was giving me motion sickness. So I'm guessing that any FPS is out too.

I have one like that, but left it in the lab. It's decent but started showing flaws. Admittedly it's had a lot of 'lunchtime' play. Handling it compared to pals pro controllers though, is light night and day.

I got motion sickness from Half Life which, with everyone banging on about it for 20 years seems a shame. I've never had it with another game. Magnets.

Anyone who watched the PS5 live stream just now should have enjoyed the nap.
-
• #21711
Started watching and then thought I’ve got better things to do with my time after the first two mins
-
• #21712
Yeah, this. Definitely don't assume any FPS will give you motion sickness, sometimes you just have a bad reaction to one particular game. I got motion sickness from What Remains of Edith Finch, but I've played loads of FPS and that's the only one I've ever had a problem with.
Can't help on the "games toddlers won't want to play" front, though!

Jesus wept. Just lost a day to Civ V. No more screens for me today (apart from this, duh).

They're great, I've got one too...

Switch code is: 0200 7838 6612
Edit: didn't realise it told me my play times for games!
50 hours on Diablo 3
100 hours in Skyrim.
240 hours playing Dark Souls Remastered. -

even I who am a big techie, got bored during that PS5 stream. All of it's irrelevant until we see actual game performance anyway (BUT the having a second m2 slot for an NVMe drive was a neat reveal)

BUT the having a second m2 slot for an NVMe drive was a neat reveal
That was the only interesting thing from that shit show yesterday. Why would they notify all the press and tweet about it to fans and then deliver that snoozefest?

Same, easily plugging in a 1tb card for more space is so much better than trying to take apart your machine to replace the hard drive with something bigger.

I have an external HDD on my PS4, but you lose a USB plug.
My old PS3 I swapped the 40gb (lol) HDD with a 500gb and used a PSP to store the firmware on to reinstall. Faf^10

I would be shocked (and disappointed) if new consoles only release with 2 USB slots.
Also they said you could use a regular HDD to store PS4 games for backwards compatibility, which will be a useful/cheaper option for some
-
• #21722
How will that work? Will you still need to insert a disc for the game to play? Or would you need to convert them somehow into the digital download formats you get from the ps store?
Probably asking questions that you don't have the answer to, apologies if so.
-
• #21723
I suspect only works with digital purchases/downloads, at least at first. There is chat about it being rolled out as games are tested also, so a limited library of 100 games at launch, so that might also be an issue.
-
• #21724
Yeah I won't be buying console for a couple of years after launch anyway. Keep ps3 as legacy machine for cheap kids games and replace ps4 with ps5, whilst keeping the games I brought for ps4.
Top 100 games is okay though (at least for me) as I'm not really buying obscure titles.. -

Dark Souls Remastered is £13 on PSN in the sale.
This will be the 3rd time I've purchased this (PS3, Switch, PS4)
It'll be on my pile of shame since Doom Eternal drops tomorrow, but hey Lordran isn't going anywhere!
I've never attached my Switch to a television.
Handheld or GTFO
