  • I also though about Halsblutung
    T-minus 11 hrs and counting.

  • Oh that's yours! Nice, @Scoot is a big fan too.

  • Already happened a bit I think, I know of quite a few who have come up to stay with parents and family.

  • Catholic masses suspended:-

    "
I am writing to advise you that the Bishops Conference of England and Wales have announced that, as of the evening of Friday 20th March, there will be no acts of worship and therefore, all masses will be suspended indefinitely.
    "

  • 'Throat bleeding'?

I can't say I've ever heard "Halsblutung", although I'm sure it exists as a word.

  • Yes of course! Thanks, She’s loves the bonne maison socks !

  • Doesn't everyone in London just rent places off Brexit voters that are living in country mansions? Where would they all go? Beachside tents? :)

  • Packed lunch from home for the foreseeable.

No need. I've got a nearly full bag of Huel at work. Still going to have to sit on the Typhoid Express to and from London though.

  • What happened to all the masks and other PPE that has been sold out for weeks? Not many people
on the street wear them, doctors and other medical staff can't get them so where are they?

  • They were shipped to south East Asian countries.

  • Yeah everyone in HK is masking up and walking about in ppe suits.
Joking aside I did see a girl at the airport in a full PPE suit wheeling a suitcase.

  • I got sent a few on-board photos of kids heading back from foreign schools. Lots of goggles, masks and paper onesies.

  • Yep loads of students heading back to HK and China now as unis closing up early for Easter. My neice flying back today to HK from UK. Not sure she has the PPE suit though

  • Had to email someone in the UK about some home stuff. I commented on the situation and hoped they were healthy and taking the advice on precautions. This was part of the reply.

"All fine It’s just another form of flu and at the moment is nowhere near as deadly as usual flu that people get every year….but that’s just me having lived through many panics in the past!!"

I know its best to keep calm but the brushing off of precautions is worrying or am I overreacting... I don't know any more.

  • My boss just told me that her parents (also back in the UK) are planning to go on a cruise next week. What the actual fuck.

  • Wha!!! Are they mad. That's crazy talk right there. Floating virus incubator 😱. The reasoning being I guess is they feel they would be away from the crazyness.

  • I know right, just get on the fucking titanic you morons. They said they've been looking forward to it and still want to go...

  • They’re all being very British, have neither of you ever read a tea towel?

    Keep calm and carry on.

That’s been the official government policy up until this week.

  • As if cruises are still happening

@hats - is there any concern in HK and China about students returning from closed institutions in the rest of the world? Likely to be quarantined etc?

  • News report on Australian ABC said that in Beijing they were quarantined on arrival, many at their own cost in a dedicated hotel.

  • That is the policy for foreign arrivals in Beijing.

  • Ah yes the tea towel.
    BURN THE TEA TOWEL!!!

  • Anyone arriving in Shanghai has to go through a process where you either self-isolate at home, quarantine at home/hotel or go to a medical centre. Arrivals are screened at the airport - a friend is currently locked in his apartment, and other people are in assigned hotels for 14 days. It depends which countries you've been to in the last 14 days, and if it's later found that someone on your flight was diagnosed, you're taken off to quarantine even if you're just self-isolating at home.

In Beijing, all arrivals have to quarantine - though I read yesterday that they're stopping all flights.

I can't remember the recent arrangement with HK but it's basically 14 days quarantine for anyone entering, in crappy gov facilities with shitty wifi (the horror!).

    So yeah, quarantine central here.

  • Shanghai quarantine hotels were free before but now you have to pay yourself, 500 RMB per night (14 days). You get food and stuff, and you can order groceries.
