All my school work for the foreseeable cancelled with the implicit understanding that schools will close from next week.

full lockdown
give over, what does that even mean?

I don't doubt this but current advice is not landing.
People are at home because they're employers have told them to be, not because they're taking this seriously.

No cams in my house. Though I could be persuaded. Money talks, after all.

This.
Had to go and pick up my dad's prescription today as they're self-isolating due to showing symptoms and it was as busy if not slightly more busy than any other day i've been out during the working week.
Really surprised me as i handn't left the house since Wednesday last week and assumed that many other people were taking the same precautions based on advice...

I've got enough booze in this house to last, even me, a good month. Okay, a week.

I never thought the zombie apocalypse would come and I find myself wanting a cargo bike rather than a sawn-off...

Maybe they were there to get their dad's prescription because they were self isolating?
Pubs, cafes, and restaurants are down 69% on last year according to something I read earlier today (quote below). If that's not a metric demonstrating that people are out less I don't know what is. Not to mention cinemas, museums, libraries, theatres all closed.
Sales at UK restaurants, cafes, and pubs are down 69% compared with
the same week last year, according to stats from retail data company
Tenzo, which monitors sales of hospitality businesses in the UK.After a week of constant decline, the company said, revenue losses had
already started to translate into closures, with 8% of the sites they
monitored having shut up shop, either temporarily or permanently.Faced with the prospect of footfall declining further, many cafes and
restaurants are turning to delivery platforms in an effort to keep
revenue up: food delivery apps are some of the only businesses
expected to benefit from the coming downturn. -

Ocado has shut down until Saturday. Where will people get their ponies apples from?
From earlier, there was clearly a lot of calls to the bbc about the lady with the loo rolls so they’ve included the interview they recorded at what appears the same time. She was, apparently, getting some for neighbours who can’t get out. She would say that though wouldn’t she (only joking, taking her at face value) -

I’d put money on ‘full lock down’ for a significant time killing more people than Corona.

Oh here we go - school close.

The UK is further behind other countries in number of cases. It makes sense to do things after them.

That tallies almost exactly with our building's visitor management systems - 71% decrease on our normal load.

A low shot as such.

Government policy on dickheads now.
Then wash your hands.

This will be the end of Womens advancement and general equalisation in the workforce for some time.

I'm pretty certain that the containment measures put in place will do far more harm to the country, economy, people's livelihoods and ultimately the indirect mortality figure than the worse case scenario (i.e doing nothing) of 230,000 deaths.

Suicide figures for 2020 are gonna be enlightening

Sorry - totally didn't catch that.

No idea what you said...
It was an obtuse reference to the Mighty Boosh / Fleetwood Mac chat up thread.

Apologies if this has already been posted with comments moving so quickly, but hearing whispers the UK will be in full lockdown from Friday. Few minutes and we'll find out I guess.
That timing would make sense.
I‘m a minion for the retail wing of an international charity. The organisation will likely assist government or major incident teams somehow at some point. The directives I’m getting are not explicit about this yet but there seems to be some sort of cutoff before Saturday.
I’m actually itching to be ‘re-purposed’.
Hey guys,
Anybody needing beer for isolating or lockdown purposes in the Kingston area ?
I know the owner of Park Brewery, he said pretty much all his cask orders have been cancelled and the taproom will be closed.
He will be open for can sales, card only at the times listed below.
They are trying to sort out online deliveries asap.
Support a local business if you can...
