Phew!
Does anyone have a contact at pornhub? We need to ensure they have enough food and drink for 3 months at least I reckon.

From BBC live ticker...
"I am a GP and Specialist Functional Medical Practitioner," writes Dr Meeta Tanna.
"The fact that Canned food, toxic chemicals and hand sanitisers are out of stock but fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs are fully-stocked, shows that humans have no idea how the immune system works."

I suspect that they are grassy fields with potential to be turned into big holes in the ground rather than bunkers.
All part of normal emergency planning tbh although definitely good that they seem to be running drills.

And fresh veg tends to have a good shelf life too.

Relevant to our interests:
The cycling industry will join forces to call on government to exempt
cycling from any ban, due to its strategic role in the nation’s
resilience - not only as transport but a form of exercise, the Bicycle
Association has said.Italy and Spain banned leisure cycling in the last week. The industry
wants the UK to avoid cycling bans, and it wants bike shops exempted
from shop opening restrictions as it believes cycling has a strategic
role to play in mitigating some of the impact on peoples’ lives of
restrictions on transport and access to the outdoors. This follows 30 prominent health and transport experts’ calls to
protect cycling and walking plus keeping parks open, and warns of the
risks of confining otherwise healthy people to their homes.Getting outside for fresh air and green spaces could be crucial in
maintaining physical and mental health in the population during these
times, they say. -

Doritos, mars bars and cans of monster seem to be their choice of sustenance. All long life and plenty of stock (fingers crossed)

I'd guess the next stage would be all non-essential travel is banned. Essential travel will be deemed going from home to work (if your job is critical) or to the shops for food etc..
No idea but what's for sure though is that nudging people is doing absolutely fuck all so they'll need to escalate at some point.

I'm not sure "fuck all" is how the businesses collapsing would put it. There is very clear evidence that the current recommendations are having a profound impact. Whether it will be enough to prevent a lockdown akin to what we're seeing on the continent? I'd guess no.

Canned fruit/veg/beans are actually quite nutrient rich, but it is a news ticker which leaves little room for nuance I guess?
I did find it also a little baffling that all the pasta/baked/beans rice were gone, but unprocessed beans/dried stuff/tinned veg/tinned tomatoes in my local spar were all there.
Tinned ratatouille turns out to be surprisingly nice... :)

True. I'm pretty concerned about not being able to go for a ride. Hope it doesn't come to that, but obviously there are bigger issues too.

My mate in Spain can’t go out for a cycle but he can walk his dog:
”Apparently, dog walking is allowed but only one human per dog. However, there's a suggestion that parents with kids who are all stuck indoors might start to resent the dog walkers. As a result, you have to maintain a sombre expression throughout.”

Apologies if this has already been posted with comments moving so quickly, but hearing whispers the UK will be in full lockdown from Friday. Few minutes and we'll find out I guess.

That's put me right in the mood for some un-necessarily powerful lager
Been working from home since yesterday, had a few sneaky completed tasks in reserve so i'm way ahead of myself already - might treat myself to a pre-apocalyptic beer or two* this evening followed by a couple of hours on the bike tomorrow morning before the work emails start requiring a response seeing as today we had the first hint of dry weather since August (not even kidding)
*more than 2, less than 10
