If you work for a marketing agency that's going to be looking pretty awful soon too.
Everyone I know is cutting marketing spend to zero.

Yes. Us too on marketing. Sales still holding up.
Hope you pull through. -

I'll be fine. I'm one of the lucky ones.
I think it's odd that people think they'll just blunder along WFH getting paid. We are heading into a big recession and it's going to be felt by everyone. Retail/hospitality are just the canaries.

I agree, unless the financial stimulus is basically magic we're looking at a shrinking global economy, which is going to effect everyone.

Facebook are giving away free advertising inventory. They really are no good scum.

People don't do that in supermarkets?
Perhaps not thanks to plastic packaging. There's always the option to wash the food...

Global economies need a readjustment. Business just doesn't make sense anymore, companies that have valuations in the billions making larger losses each year, consumerism fuelled by cheap debt, providing products and services you neither want nor need. It's all fucked.
Here cometh the reaping

The freshly baked croissants in our local Spar aren't plastic covered, you put them in a paper bag with the tongs provided.
One guy touches them before he picks the one he wants, my partner caught him several times.
Now is the time to get revenge and get him permabanned :)

Moving from Buenos Aires to Bariloche tomorrow, Argentina doesn't have many confirmed cases or even deaths but most of the cases are in BA. At the other end we will eventually be staying with a friend who is in his 50s and we want to self isolate before staying with him. What is the current recommended time for this?

Again this was a massive realisation. It's all just a fucking sham.
Another thing.
Imagine being 18 in 2008. -

I bathe my perineum in the morning sunshine.

Hi.

• #4917
Yeah.
I cant even.I think about all that chat about "we went through wars etc etc" but this is the equivalent and longer.
Equivalent in terms of life disruption. Not in violence or terror experience before I get pulled up on this.

Imagine being 18 in 2008
I was. What does it mean?

They join me.

I mean. It's a bit fucking rough for the majority of the cohort aged 18 in 2008. Two big things plus incessant global terror. Stability is pretty shit.

It's only gotten worse, I feel more sorry for the younger generation. For example if this coronavirus hit when I was working in hospitality in my early 20s I'd very quickly not be able to afford rent.

It’s been fun.
2008 was a great summer, no job but sunshine for weeks and £3 3 Litre Strongbow.

Fucking cider?
Youth is wasted on the young. -
• #4924
Think that was cool, I was 20 in 2008 and could get a decent size bottle of vodka for £10.

WFH until further notice for me, already bored of it. It was only a recommendation before but now it's enforced. Feels like cabin fever is already setting in & it's only bleedin' Tuesday.
Does make me a bit concerned, working as a software engineer for a company whose entire thing is being the 'Netflix of live sport', but there's no live sport to show. At least we have VoD content, but that doesn't keep the punters subscribed.
Year on year? That's rough.
