Ok so how much do I need to spend on a decent monitor?
Such a difficult question! I actually came to this thread to ask about monitor recommendations. As I've been told to self-isolate for the next two weeks I'm going to be looking at a screen at home more :/
I've currently got an Asus PA248Q which is one of their 'Pro Art' monitors, so a decent IPS screen, but I've had this since 2013 and every few years I just start thinking my screen isn't big enough and now I want a 27" or bigger...
Funnily enough I have been looking at lovely Dell QHD things, specifically this one:

The Dell Ultrasharps are lovely. I had three of the older models U2713HM and U2715 I think. All 1440p.
I ended up flogging the three of them and getting two 4k monitors instead, LG 27UK650 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0798QLW64
(though looks like there's an updated version, the 27UL650)
Think I paid about £350 each. Price fluctuated a bit on AmazonNot a bad word to say about either the Dells or the LGs
Good point!
