I think someone legal here (danstuff?) said that DIY wills generate huge amounts of work for probate lawyers as they are often dreadfully done.

I agree with the sentiments though. If your Will is 'If I die then it all goes to the missus, if she dies too it goes to the cat's home' then you're probably OK doing it yourself, provided you're careful. Anything more complicated than that, and there's a distinct risk your estate will go the Chancery Lawyers Benevolent Fund.
Hmm... should I dwell on the fact that I do not have a will?
Is it possible to write one yourself and have others notarise... like they do in old movies?
It's less the "I give this to that person" and more the "I want to document how shit should happen" and in my case that includes how to run this forum platform, etc.
I'm not being excessively morbid here, I need to do this anyway as I'm going through a separation and need to tidy all this up anyway.
Anyone done this DIY?
