  • You're right; it may be possible at this point however to say "Once it is deemed safe for football to continue, this domestic season, whether in 'isolation' or as part of next, will be concluded."

  • This, it's a lost cause... Just hope we can start up again in August...

  • The trouble is, football is all about money these days, so follow the money.

If the Premier League season is declared null and void, then would the clubs have to repay a proportion of their TV income? What would happen to the clubs Premier League prize money? Would they refund season ticket holders? Could they still manage to pay the players without matchday revenues? Could Sky and BT make a claim for lost ad revenue and viewer subscriptions?

It's not all about denying Liverpool the title.

  • load it all into Championship Manager and get them to sort it out like MEN

With an aggregated value of 1.4bn euros (£1.27bn), the Reds top the list ahead of fellow Premier League side Manchester City (£1.24bn) in second.

  • This is not the trophy you've been waiting for...

  • PL, Liverpool, Sky, UEFA... Morals? hahahahahahahaha

  • If you’re going to null and void the title (which sounds sensible) then you have to do the same at the other end. No relegation, no promotion from the lower leagues (again how do you decide who would have gone up). Just wipe the season from the record books, burn the sticker albums and try not to think about what could have been.

  • try not to think about what could have been.

    😂😂😂🔫

  • Is there not some Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method that could be applied to the remainder of the season. Maybe over last 10 games or so for form.

  • Football is not cricket.

  • A while ago I knocked up a spreadsheet that extrapolates league positions on last 6 or 10 games of form (which self updates so I don't need to do anything to it).

Bad for West Ham, good for Villa.

  • Looks like it’s now Euro 2021

  • Best educated guess is that they’ll pull the plug on domestic and European club football once the all clear has been received from the legal counsel.

Either that or they expect the club season to finish around the 10th July followed by the olympics?

  • I'm more than happy with voiding. There's no way to finish the season. Players will still be getting sick for months / recovering at different rates - nothing will be fair.

  • Can't really play club games after June 30th though.

It's got to be null and void. Possibly a late start to next season, may be an idea to re-jig WC2022 qualifying.

  • Can't really play club games after June 30th though.

Because of the FIFA/UEFA (can't remember which one) rule that says so? That rule is easily relaxed temporarily.

Reminds me, I'm paying monthly for BT Sport (as in not in a contract). Might have to ring them to cancel as there's fuck all sport on that I want to watch.

£10 a month can go to the foodbank instead.

  • Thankfully you’re correct

  • One problem with extending the league is the advent of the transfer window. Once that opens, side close to relegation or battling for the top four, could splash cash and alter the outcome.

  • Could also lose key players too

  • Or no transfer window until last game played.

  • Apparently Sky sports are allowing people to pause their subscription with no fee, currently only over the phone, but potentially over internet soon.

  • Powerplay have just suspended all of their 5-a-side leagues.
