We got emails today about claiming vouchers for our Spain flights. Not much use if the airline doesn't exist in a few months. I wonder how you tell if flight-only bookings are ATOL or not.

Yep, still green code. A few friends are yellow, friend of a friend is red and in a quarantine centre. There's talk that the code will become a permanent thing, and I'm sure many in the party are glad they have this opportunity to crack down. People are fine with it for now as they're constantly told how dangerous everything is, but even here I think it's going to wear thin. Han Chinese are fine with other ethnic groups being monitored but will not be quite so ok with it applying to them in the long term.

We are in small town Spain till Friday. Went out this morning. Was like any wet Monday morning TBH, except for the forlorn sight of the alcoholics standing outside the closed bars. Probably safer here than anywhere else. Dreading going back to London on Friday.

should be able to visit instead on Friday...
I know they're your parents but it's not really self-isolation if you're visiting them in the middle of it...
This is going to be really hard, avoiding people whom we care deeply about whilst they're sick

I'm visiting my Grandma - not my parents...
I will be picking up my dads prescription on Wednesday but will be posting it through the letterbox rather than coming into contact with them.

So this morning i discovered that a student i teach is showing symptoms of Coronavirus and that i handled her water bottle, and touched her skin directly (to feel for a pulse) when she fainted on friday, i feel i cannot with good conscience continue to teach face to face with students until the student is diagnosed one way or another, but it seems she will not be tested unless admitted to hospital.
As a side note she is often ill, so clearly has a poor immune system.
111 advise that no action is needed on my part, coming from a Government who seem to want us to all be infected to gain "herd Immunity' i'm not surprised, ethically i don't feel comfortable taking their advice until we know more about the students condition, i am going to WFH until this becomes clearer.
Anyone know what position this puts me in? i'm available remotely, but just working from home..

Wasn't there a case of a reinfection reported in Japan? So, unless that was bogus (I'm not really following the news) then it's not the case.

tobacconists
Pretty sure smoking is literally the opposite to 'essential to life'.
I assume they're open because they often also sell food? -
• #4213
Cornettos would be essential

Wiping away a patriotic tear. With a disposable tissue ofc.

Makes more sense now.

My office is up the rafters of Kings Cross station. It was like a ghost town this morning. In fact, the front page of the Graun right now is a shot of the near-deserted KX concourse. Weird scenes.

I read an interview today with a Medicins Sans Frontieres doc who said that even a healthy person recovering from Covid can be struggling for months before they are back to normal.
Personally I'd prefer that to happen as late as possible, at a time when there is plenty of research available, so fuck chasing "immunity" in the first weeks of the epidemic. -

They fear the rioting that would occur if you closed tobacconists.

Someone has a positive, negative, positive test. Negative tests have a false negative rate of something positive.

I'm visiting my Grandma - not my parents...
That´s even worse then. Don´t.

Gotcha.
Thirsty work this self-isolating...

I had to go to a second supermarket for lactose free halloumi. The horrors!

Fair enough. Like I said, not following the news I just saw it pop up somewhere.

Won't somebody think of the poor lactoses?!
Should I buy a Zwift?
