  • The problem with these suggestions is that there's no guarantee whether the next season will be able to start in August 2020.

    What if you cancel the current season but then there not in a position to play matches again until February 2021? If that was the case the most logical thing would to be to finish off the current season in that time, hold the Euros in 2021 and rearrange whatever Nations League shite was going to run through the summer of 2021.

    Sure, loads of players will be out of contract, loads of other stuff will be up the spout, but most teams will be in exactly the same situation.

    What to do if you can start again June 2020? August 2020? June 2021? etc, all different scenarios.

    Until there's a idea of when football is starting again there's little point deciding what to do.

  • You're right; it may be possible at this point however to say "Once it is deemed safe for football to continue, this domestic season, whether in 'isolation' or as part of next, will be concluded."
