• I heard we don’t know how effective the virus is at mutating (is that the right word?) or if it can at all. But what is the likelihood that a virus would mutate? Is it rare? The flu is the only one I have heard of doing it but I know zilch.
Weirdly we have a mouse problem in our flat- brought on by our neighbors doing renovations it seemed- and I find myself a bit freaked out by the germy little fuckers in a way I am sure I wouldnt be in normal circumstances. With a modest stockpile of rice and bags of pasta due to the virus the situation is putting significant pressure on my Tupperware collection!

  • Viruses mutate to survive and high mortality viruses don't spread well for perpetuity because they kill all their hosts so mutation usually makes them weaker. Is my basic understanding of something very complicated.

  • there's apparently already two distinct strains of Covid that have been identified; one has proven to be more virile and easier to transmit than the other.
