Busy day on today but I want to squeeze every penny of value from my Eurosport subscription so I’ll be coming in to watch Paris Nice as soon as the coverage starts.
Sounds drastic but it could be the last race day of the season.

I forgot to turn off auto-subscribe again, and it renewed last week!
I emailed and told them I didn't want it, to cancel and refund me. And they did.

Alaphilippe and De Gendt in the break if Quintana and Higuita work together this is going to be a great race.

Connor Swift doing a great turn, pulled about 30s back on his own.

De Gendt De Gendting, as is his wont

Hell of a ride by De Gendt. Impressive to drop Alaphilippe.

See some of you chaps at Omloop 2021 then
Probably more truthful.

Good win for Schachmann. Pics on cyclingnews show he's obviously feeling it:
Love seeing Quinana back to his winning ways however... would have been a fucking amazing run up to the Giro seeing how everyone's form was developing. Benoot also looking really good this year : (

I wonder what was holding him back in movistar ? Nice to see him smiling again.

Higuita gave Schahmann a free tow up the hill when Benoot went.

Just caught up on this race. Don't really understand why schachmann didn't lose time when he crashed on the previous stage, there was no one else involved? Benoot would have then won. His gammy hunchback style is great, shame there's no classics this year, he would have been dangerous.

UCI rule 2.6.026. This states that ‘In the case of a duly noted fall, puncture or mechanical incident in the last three kilometres of a road race stage, the rider or riders involved shall be credited with the time of the rider or riders in whose company they were riding at the moment of the accident. His or their placing shall be determined by the order in which he or they actually cross the finishing line.’
There doesn't have to be anyone else involved.

Ah, fair enough. Seems like a silly rule though in this case. Keeping upright is part of the game, it's not zwift.
-

It’s a sensible rule on a flat, non-GC stage likely to end in a bunch sprint.

Of course, I understand the application for bunch kick type stages, and if you get taken out by someone else, but when it's entirely your own fault there should be some kind of exception.
I recall an omnishambles a year or two ago when van garderen crashed 8k out on the Californian tour and somehow got no time loss. UCI have never been super consistent in applying the rules anyway.

I thought the same things watching it. I can imagine though, if it was a rule to be interpreted, that you'd end up with what looked like a crash in the bunch and some riders saying it was one person's fault and they should lose time etc. The times when you get the Schachmann situation are rare enough for a blanket rule not to throw up significant controversies.
The UCI have not, indeed, been consistent. Maybe we can spend the next few months examining that in greater depth, give that we will have no actual racing to talk about. -

Anyone play Pro Cycling Manager? If so is this strictly PC only or has anyone got it working on a Mac? Just thinking of things to do.

Are you sure that’s not just Arkea’s travel cost saving solution?

Nairo is definitely small enough to sleep comfortably in a car boot.

I had a dream last night that Eurosport were offering refunds due to Covid
This is a terrible time to be working from home...
