Absolute heartbreak for Tratnik. He was churning a monster gear for the time he was away.
A builder came to see me at 2km to go and I was fairly sure he’d get caught then so I was surprised to see how close he got.

We will know in a couple of days I guess :-/ I have read there are some organisers asking for races to go on but without spectators

Bahrein-McLaren out of Paris Nice to repatriate their team personnel & riders to their homes... so even if there was to be no one along the course, teams will pull out of races, and rightfully so of course:

FDJ have withdrawn too I believe.
-

can't find confirmation yet. but they probably won't be the last to pull out

I read it here;

Don't think it's true. but yeah, probably should be true

For reasons, they’ve decided to drop the final stage around the mountains north of Nice, so the summit finish tomorrow is the final stage.

It surprised me, as French teams normally back the ASO party line no matter how batshit crazy it might be.

Giro start in Hungary cancelled.
Good opportunity to run them on some of the routes of Strade Bianche, Lombardy and Milan San-Remo and make up for the heartbreak of them not going ahead!

By then all the tubulars will be recyled into hazmat suits or something.

they can just use pasta sheets, shirly? like edible fetish-wear

Benoot bossing this now.
-
• #25666
good day for Sunweb!
Expert performance from Benoot/Andersen to get the stage and 2nd on GC... Matthews getting second just the cherry on the cake.
-
• #25667
ooft, just seen schachmann overcooking that corner... properly spanked into the barriers.
-
• #25668
Yup. Pretty amazing how quickly he was up and back on really
-
• #25669
bad luck for Schachmann but good news for us as tomorrow will be a lot more spicy... as it is I can't see Schachmann resisting Benoot now, he's got the beans and Sunweb are looking well prepped
-
• #25670
Who was Schachmann’s teammate who rode around him just as he was trying to get a hold of his bike?
-
• #25671
Großshartner. He's a climber and 4th on GC so he stands enough of a chance that he had to continue on (if tomorrow's stage goes ahead of course).

Both minister of sport and the organizer said it's almost certain the Ronde will be cancelled. The strict measures that are in place now should end on april 3rd. It's almost impossible to have everything in place on the 5th.
-
• #25673
End of days it is then. To be fair, the Belgian reaction seems to have been everything is normal and then “shut it all down”
-
• #25674
Giro is postponed also ?
Looks like today's Paris-Nice stage is going to be the last racing for a little while.

De Ronde cancelled
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they’ve limited it to March at the moment. I’d imagine that it will need to be end of days for the Ronde to be cancelled.
