I had a good night, but went totally for nostalgia reasons - rarely go to metal gigs these days, and trying to see bands who I never saw as a kid, cos no fucker came to Belfast.
Poor old Death Angel put on at 6.45, and that's pub time. Exodus were, as you say, never better than mediocre, but Testament were good fun, though it's weird that Chuck Billy still spends 90 mins playing air guitar with his mic.

I'd like to see them live once, just for the sake of it.
Aaand Dopelord cancelled their tour too, pity, but it's for the best.

Saw them on Tuesday, they were excellent. The drummer has Mario Rubalcaba levels of energy/stamina. Guitarist is a top guy too.

If you love Mario check out Spider Fever, more Sonic's Rendezvous/Aussie Punk than metal but fantastic nonetheless... We're well overdue another record...

[boast post] we were on the guest list, so i didn't lose out and have no worries fucking off home if i am not digging it.
the thrash thing was more about a nostalgia catch up with a couple of bros and once we were in there, we realised that there was a reason the three bands on the bill weren't as big as the others. i loved testament, but exodus were shit when i was a kid and they still are now...
death angel were pretty good. i went in only knowing two of their albums.
