... why is his hand so shiny? Is this explained in the dialogue? (can't hear it, but really want deets on the hand thing)
-
• #3279
can't hear it
Trust me, you're not missing out and don't want to hear it.

The local paper just announced that the Valencia region is also closing all bars, restaurants, gyms etc. from tonight, so I wouldn't assume it will just be Madrid/Basque region/La Rioja for much longer.

shiny from fisting fat 'muricans out of their cash would be my best guess. Dialogue is him 'healing' "this flu-or whatever it is" through eh, the power of god. of course.

check the absolute nick of this cunt. looks like he subsists on aborted foetuses and amniotic fluid. The stuff of nightmares.

Just so I'm clear - people call this guy up, pay through the teeth for that phone line and he prayers for them?
-
• #3284
But he's got a shiny hand so maybe that's what makes it super-effective?

There's an old Marvel vs Capcom fighting game where the end boss is some guy with a giant metal fist, and he says "BEHOLD MY MIGHTY HAND" and periodically smashes you with it. In my head I'm just saying "BEHOLD MY SHINY HAND" in the same voice for the audio on that video, I hope that helps someone.

Brazilian pres Bolsonaro is positive. He was having dinner with Trump this week, along with his press secretary who also tested positive. I'll be very interested to see how Trump's actions change if he finds he has it.
Those looong power handshakes not looking so good now, eh?

He'll wrap you in his arms,
Tell you that you've been a good boy
He'll rekindle all the dreams
It took you a lifetime to destroy
He'll reach deep into the hole
Heal your shrinking soul -

As if we didn't have enough to worry about. -

I like the way they've got Alan from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust to comment. Bears coming down from the Forest of Bowland has always been a problem.

My university has cancelled all on campus exams. I've never heard of an off campus exam!
Will be interesting to see what the out come is. No time frame on a solution, which is stressful.
There will be no on-campus exams during April and May this year, and instead assessments will include online assessments, delays to examinations or alternative forms of assessment where necessary.
These arrangements will vary by programme and level and students will be informed directly by their departments on what those arrangements will be. Please bear with us whilst we finalise and communicate these plans. -

I've never heard of an off campus exam!
There are actually quite a few of those, e.g. people taking exams abroad.

One of the guys on was on a stag do last week in Madrid with has just messaged the stag group with the 'I think I may have it' considering no one else has been doing any wind-up messages and just yesterday we all announced no ill effects, I'm now wondering if this is genuine I have no reason to think not, although he has been up at Cheltenham this week.
**Must go out and get bog roll

e.g. people taking exams abroad.
Or even just UoL (e.g. UCL) students taking exams at Excel London, not exactly part of campus.
-
• #3299
Ah yes. I was thinking more via your home computer. Which will never take off for obvious reasons.
I foresee a shit load of assignments. I do not want August exams.
-

I am not sure that is what they mean though, as a large gathering of people is exactly why they're cancelling on-campus exams.
So how long does this virus last on various surfaces? Does it make any difference if hard surfaces are wet, refrigerated, etc. What about stuff like fruit and veg? Is cooking something a high enough temperature to kill it? Any ideas?
