Not a bad idea. The problem is I used to dash in, lob it on the counter and be on my way. Now they want me to wait in the queue so they can weigh and scan it, rather negating the convenience of doing the cashier bit for them before I bring it in.

There are a few new parcel post boxes around London now. Mostly central. Only smaller parcels though.

If you go to a Post Office with self-service machines the "host" can normally deal with prepaid packages without you joining the main queue.
