• Lots of anecdotal "first cases were identified in November, was probably going around before then and I had a cunt of a cold in December" stories coming from around the globe.

How likely is it that this has been a pandemic far longer than known and a significant number of people internationally have indeed already had it?

Again, anecdotally, partner and I were both bed ridden for a week in December with a strangely dry cold that never came to much in terms of mucus but hung around for a couple of weeks. Makes me wonder as we both work in germ-pit offices with high international populations.

  • I had a cunt of a cold in December

Funnily enough, I had exactly this; I wouldn't have been able to crawl across a ploughed field for a stack of £50 notes.

It started with a nagging dry cough that wouldn't do one for weeks, then turned in to three days of utter shite. On day four I tried fixing a bike, after about 20 mins I was back in bed.

    But! No fever.

I'm also vaccinated against the most popular flu strains.

  • I'm not thinking of the cold I had on and off for a few weeks too. Didn't think of taking my temp at the time and just put it down to a seasonal thing.

  • 🤷‍♂️

We will be sure to find out soon I guess but given how hard and fast it's spread since detected and how interconnected/international we are now, if out and about pre-December our Christmas migration would have undoubtedly done for covid what the Chinese New year's celebrations did for it too.
