• E.g. pads is worn after 1,000km, and rotor while still thick, showing slight wear (lips above and below brake track), still replaced them as the next pads will wear it thinner, and likely to cause piston to pop out if both pads and rotor start to wear out.

  • I've not checked the rotors yet - had presumed they would be ok, most likely erroneously.
    I know it's impossible to estimate wear on components given the variables with riding but 1000km per rotor does seem low!

    Not really, rotors varies on brand, Shimano I find wear out sooner but I find their performance great.

    It’s just how we ride, my summer bike have 3,400km but no chain or pads wear as it never see rain let alone puddle of water.

    Example of customer who doesn’t look after their bike since last service 6 months ago (his pads is nearly gone), you can see not only lips but lots of tiny grooves;
