  • I was drinking Screwface at lunch. Not sure if related...

  • So you have no critique of UK government policy to date and there are no improvements that could have been made?

  • It's getting in the way of beer now!

    Right, now I'm fucking worried.

  • The one thing for sure about this outbreak is that the government haven't been up to scratch. Boris didn't attend a COBRA meeting until about a week ago.

  • Not much point having a tourist industry if everything is under water.

Actually, reading that again, maybe we should have more cruise ships, as they'll be the only things left above water when the ice caps melt.

  • No one likes snakes.

  • I have an issue with picking one article from a biased source to suggest a point has been proven.

Also Guardian article as gospel is a fucking boring trope in this place. Some variety would be nice. /moan

  • Rabelais has some advice for when we all run out of lavatory paper:

  • Why wait till you run out, given the review.

  • I didn't say a point has been proven. I asked if there were any concerns with government policy. Will you play the ball (i.e. engage with the substance of what he said)?

  • District line trains are now getting the handrails disinfected every other trip at Wimbledon now. Someone asked the cleaners how they would manage to clean the hanging straps as well, only to be met with a blank look !
If you've got to hold on use a hand rail not the straps and I wouldn't imagine the door buttons are getting a clean so use your elbow. I'm led to believe this will happen at all terminus stations, but the reality is there won't be enough layover time on some lines .

  • Local Aldi completely out of geese. Greedy bastards bulk buying them.

  • I think, perhaps unsympathetically, you are suggesting that Franks should reconsider his position based on the contents of the guardian article you linked to immediately after your question.

I could be wrong - what were you suggesting? Perhaps you should have been clearer. Or it's my bad?

  • It's one expert. Others are saying our course of action has been sensible. But I take it more seriously.

you have no critique of UK government policy

Precisely what we should avoid. Random Dunning-Krugerite members of the public are not equipped to dictate policy on an issue as important and complex as this. They should keep quiet, stop spreading their poorly informed views and let the trained experts make the decisions.

Inaction will get people killed. But so will drastic, panic-fuelled overreactions taken to kowtow to the loudest subset of people on the internet.

  • @frankenbike s position yesterday was that there was no grounds to criticize UK government response to date. I was following up on that, using the article as a prompt. That is all really.

  • this article suggest the british government policy is for everyone to get it, get over it, and develop herd immunity.

    Boris's super race

  • I’m fairly tall, could prob get away with a swan...?

  • If you can afford to go to Waitrose.

  • and face the wrath of Prince Andrew?

  • Brazilian Comms secretary a confirmed case days after meeting Trump. Also, pornstar name.

  • Something like this:

  • Having a swan around the place for the next few weeks might liven things up a little I suppose.

  • I’m heading to Dulwich park with a couple of Ikea bags right now.

  • That's what I was saying earlier. If you see people dying as one of the outputs with no greater value than their £ contribution it's the only sensible approach.

Get rid of the old and infirm, reduce your outgoings, have a stronger race of leftovers

  • I doubt it will be a happy housemate if you're wiping your arse on it every day. That is the sort of thing that breeds intense hatred, I'd imagine.
