• I suppose the general assumption is this like flu so, you know, get sick watch Netflix.

Clearly it can’t be - mild for corvid is probably more like severe for flu (I guess), that doesn’t sound particularly fun...

Seeing a lot of this “mild doesn’t actually mean mild” stuff getting posted everywhere in the last few days but there have been and are still also plenty reports of people feeling slightly unwell, testing positive and recovering quickly. Also lots of “actual numbers will be much higher due to mild cases not being reported”.

Part of me wondered if the mild is not mild thing is just the latest click bait media tactic.

It does feels like that, another ramping up of the panic levels - there's been weeks of reporting that symptoms can be so light you can barely notice them

  • Very fair point - guess I’m trying to rationalise to myself, to explain the hospitalisation of so many people, yet comparatively high survival.

  • Decided to take anything I read about symptoms with a fatal dose of salt, there was some clickbait shit in then local paper yesterday about one guy's experience, 24 days of illness followed by breathing difficulties, only in the last sentence does the reporter decide to reveal he'd developed pneumonia (but was on the mend now), I'm like way to whip up fear, since most people won't actually get to the last sentence
