• This is the problem with trying to 'lock things down' - people have an annoying habit of doing what they want.

    I guess these people have made a decision that entertainment and socialising with a small chance of getting sick > no entertainment and no socialising and a smaller chance of getting sick.

    One of the trickier things for the government is calling the time / situation where people are receptive to more draconian measures for the longest possible time. Too early and they'll get pissed with you and not vote for you and you'll exhaust their patience too quickly.

    we just canceled a weekend away with the boys. JUST. Why risk taking a flight, maybe being stranded there, to talk and drink some beers (if cafes are still open).

  • We were thinking of going to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Less fussed by not being allowed back into the UK as long as roads are open so we can drive down to France and stay at my folks.

    TBH the idea of working remotely in the middle of the French countryside sounds quite appealing.

    On balance though, I'm not sure what you do in Amsterdam when you don't want to come into contact with anyone.
