I’d rather eat the toilet roll than that bread

A Danske Radio reporter just reported from a supermarket queue in front of a bloke holding a pack of bog roll...

I'd rather have smørrebrød than spaghetti-o's to be fair.

Shit, keep it quiet or the shelves will be bare
Popped into my local Morrisons for a top-up shop after work today.
No loo rolls, though there were some kitchen rolls and the usual massive stacks of own label tissues (which I've never understood). Hardly any pasta or rice on the shelves. No soap or hand wash either (though there was a sign saying that there was a limit per customer). The bottled water section was only about 10% stocked as well.
People are going into prepper mode!

You´re just... wrong.

@Grubé who knows. I'll buy an extra bag of nappies tomorrow and carry on as usual.

I wonder how many will contract the virus in the qeue.

seriously can't be fucked with all this panic. If we're all entering a post-apocalyptic phase can't we just have some dignity? I'll start getting worried when the chianti, crisps and ben and jerries starts running low. Toilet roll? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hungary has declared state of emergency too, stuff has been shut down.
article linkOur office will go business continuity testing mode on Friday, meaning everyone's working from home to see if it works out or not. Given I commute by the single most crowded public transport method (metro), I wouldn't mind working from home for a month or so...

qeue
I can never spell this word either, which is confessedly poor for a native English speaker, but your spelling of it is beautifully, and pleasingly wrong in representing my own continual misspellings of it.

If they run out of their heavenly rugbrød Danes will re-invade England just to vent their rage.

It is mad. I'm not aware of any major risk to supply chains, at least not sufficient to disrupt food (and bog roll) supply.
The only likely shortage is ICU beds, medics and ventilators.

maybe there's a Blue Peter where they make a hospital ventilator out of loo roll tubes?

Paris Roubaix is going to get cancelled though, isn't it?

Not taken as a whole, but stockpiling of staples like said bread and luxury bog roll will still result in some empty shelves no?

I'm on my last 4 bog rolls and let me tell you I am getting slightly concerned

Would happily live on rye bread + pickled herring until this whole thing blows over.

Called my 84 year old Grandad earlier he seems pretty chilled about the whole thing, told me his neighbour said they spent 500 quid in the supermarket, including 130 cans of baked beans. WTAF

Hope they did buy a load of toilet roll if that's going to be their diet

I bought a metric truckload of ICU beds and ventilators on ebay last week. Just in case.

But those around you might not.
Yes. There’s a reporter live in our local supermarket right now reporting just that on the news.
