Cheers, @TM & @alialias, some good stuff in there.
Current ideas are for a creamy/greeny fade, which when I write it down sounds disgusting, but I think looks alright in what I've mocked out.
One thing I took from those threads is the idea of a contrast drop shadow on the logo - helps with keeping it legible when it's over the fade.

That's really nice

Our man @darlojim has sorted some nice water glide stickers for me, hoping to drop off the frame tomorrow morning with Bob Jackson. Going for the colour scheme above, looking forward to rebuilding it!
Other than that, it's been a pretty good start to the year for riding, despite the mixed weather. On the first weekend I ticked my first fixed gear century off my bucket list.
This last weekend a friend & I rode over to Manchester into a horrid headwind to meet up with another friend & race an 01fix1 alleycat (Dead Race MCR sprints). Of the five events, we (LSF) won four of them, with my friends winning two each! A bit disappointed to not win anything myself, but I was on the podium for three of the events. The alleycat itself was a pretty bonkers out & back along Manchester's busiest going-out road (Deansgate) on a Saturday night, was adrenaline fuelled!
Also always nice to meet up with a few new fixed gear people. Despite being from Manchester, I never rode fixed there really as started riding fixed at uni in Aberystwyth. I sold that first fixed gear a few months back to someone on here who was from Manchester & he was there on the night, nice to hear that it's still being ridden around. Saw an outrageous Colnago pursuit frame with a curved seattube & double Campag discs (54x14!) & a few Graham Weighs, one of which was definitely a Donohue built one.

Looking forward to seeing the result! Do you mind me asking how much they quoted you for the fade?

Didn't actually quote me a price, which on reflection was a bit odd. There's quite a few options on the website so it's a bit tricky to see what it qualifies as (the scheme I went for was a 'top blush' with metallic paints). Was chatting to @TM yesterday & he reckons about £140 which sounds like the right ballpark. I've saved a bit of money by being able to hand deliver the frame (only across the valley from my house) & having sorted out the decals. Will find out in about three weeks, if their rough estimate holds true.

Ta, sounds reasonable. My two-tone Mercian is starting to look a bit tatty.

New bars which @TM dug out of the back of the workshop at Woodrup. Nice width & curve, I've never properly got on with wider bars before but these feel pretty good so far! The only problem is that the nice Graham Weigh ITM stem is super flexy. Might look at some Nitto ones later unless anyone has anything decent they're keen to get rid of. Probably about 110mm.
Also, new office day. We've moved literally across the road, so bike is locked up outside for now until I figure out the bike parking options here.

Saw that yesterday, looked great! Is that the posh new offices on the corner? Surprised they don't have bike parking if so!

Also, I've got a mini fahg you can borrow if you want to beef up security whilst you're waiting to get something sorted? That is already locked up significantly better than 99% of bikes in Leeds though.

Ah cheers! Moved from above Natwest to above Head of Steam - so not far at all! Thanks for the D-lock offer, managed to figure out access to the underground parking so so it's safely hidden away :)
Picked up the fixed wheel for the Ritchey yesterday. I managed to completely mangle the rear rim on a rocky descent with too low pressures & it was feeling awful to the ride. New rim, rotors & redid the rear derailleur cable & it's like a new bike (again)! It's amazing how much difference a twenty minute job to properly sort out the shifting makes, don't know why I procrastinated sorting it for so long.

The weather has been a bit rank lately (to put it lightly). Heavy rain & strong winds. Storm Dennis brought us a strong southerly wind, which was convenient as we had plans in Durham last weekend, so it pushed us the ninety miles there on Friday. Quite a nice route up through the vale of York, & Durham itself is a beautiful city.

Also while I was riding up I missed a call from Bob Jackson - my frame was finished. WFH today so popped across to pick it up.
It's not perfect - some marks around the decals - but I'm quite happy as it came out costing just about half of what I was expecting. The colours are lovely & just what I wanted, with a nice subtle sparkle. Got carried away with building it in my slightly extended lunch break.
As a note, I do have some fresh new tyres to put on this, rather than the slightly grubby current ones.

Great colour

Very nice, looks like a very similar colour to my Argos which bizarrely Bob Jackson painted. If it is the same, rest assured that no matter how dirty or tired the paint gets it will still stand out like a mo-fo!

Great, I love a unicrown

Cheers you lot, I'm pretty pleased with it! Should finish building it by the end of the week, but it'll take a while before I'm riding it again I think with the third weekend of rain/wind weather warnings in a row coming up :(

Hopefully - if the weather doesn't turn - going to get a chance to ride this later.
Also, my brother called me yesterday - he's eventually getting around to replacing the rim on my Dura-Ace C24s. IIRC, I'm I gave him almost the same rims as on these Hunt wheels (Kinlin XR31T?). Building up with silver bladed spokes, could be gorge.

Sweet, man! Looks great built up. Tan walls really go with the paint job

Cheers! I'm a sucker for a tan wall.
Went on a shakedown ride yesterday & remembered how much this bike absolutely flies. Love it.

The left shifter for the front derailleur has started massively playing up. It's Shimano R8020 & won't shift up unless I pull it in slightly to brake & only push only the outer paddle, not the inner one too as you're supposed to. Spent a few nights staring into the shifter & trying various combinations of things but nothing seems to have worked. Frustratingly, it seems to work okay when the bike is upsidedown (when it's the easiest to debug), but not when it's the right way up, suggesting that something's come loose. I reckon it's on the upper side of the shifter though as it's impossible to see.
I think I'm going to have to take it to a shop, which will hopefully open it up & resolve it. I've looked for technical diagrams of them but there's nothing detailed enough on the Shimano website. Kind of expecting to have to buy a whole new shifter for a whole shedload of money which I'm loath to do. Maybe I'll just go 1x.
