has there ever been a bike frame that has gone up in value?
Maybe. How much do want to pay me for a 1948 Rotrax? I have the original receipt for £14.19/- 🙂

I can't think of any either i know mines rare but not rare enough so i suppose only one offs and those ridden by some legend to win a particular race are the only ones to fetch good money. But you never know in 20 years time mine might be worth a tenner more than i paid for it if I'm lucky.

The forum's own @thecycleclinic has #tester_approved Kalloy SP-248 in 25.0 to get you back on the road during the long wait for something more #tartmode in that size.

Howdy all, I’ve bought two different alloy 25mm posts from eBay (a black BBB for my KG381 and a silver ‘etc’ for an Alan) and both seem fine, both were under £10...
I’ve managed to source an ergo post but reading above and generally on the internet they seem to be fairly easy to break - is this right? Should I bother buying one for £50? Seller and I have agreed to pause sale until he’s able to post it given current world situation etc...

Sadly completely shredded. Those dura ace ones are nice, I'll keep a look out. In the meantime I've bought an sp-248 (thanks tester) while I wait for something worthwile

The clamp is proper shite and slips constantly. I wouldn't read too much into the durability from my post, I fell about ten stairs with the bike and planted my weight directly onto the post. I am also sure they'd break with less. But they look good innit

I glad I’ve kept the DA one now as I also wanted to get a Look one too. Might have dodge a bullet there.

Want to take the one I’ve got dibs’d? Might walk away as I’m building mine as a beater/commute machine and £50 on a seatpost is probably the wrong way to go for me...

Yeah maybe it's stupid but I think I would . I'll pm you

one generation of ergopost got a full recall in I think 2003 for its propensity to snap. mine's still intact, but I might be right in thinking I've never actually sat on it.

That's a good start, now you need a steel one in the mix.

I already have one but that’s an old Harry Middleton purple TT frame and fork

That 296 in pursuit mode. So good.
The KG233s in track flavour were worth quite a lot a few years back.
